Zowie FK1 gaming mouse review

Today we will get acquainted with a fairly young and new brand for the Ukrainian consumer – Zowie. Zowie Gear existed before, but began to gain fame after being taken over by the Chinese electronics manufacturer BenQ. Now, under the Zowie brand, not only manipulators are produced, but also other peripheral gaming devices – monitors, keyboards, rugs. The review will focus on the FK1 gaming mouse, at first glance the product is simple. But suddenly something more is hidden behind external simplicity?

Equipment

The mouse meets its buyer in a neat black package, and in addition to the manipulator and documentation, you will find a nice bonus in the kit – interchangeable legs.

Appearance and ergonomics

At first glance, it becomes clear – we have already seen it somewhere. Yes, the appearance of the mouse cannot boast of originality, but this is not necessary. Any mouse, in our opinion, should first of all be comfortable and of high quality, and then everything else. Ergonomics will be discussed further, but for now let’s dwell on the design in detail.

The mouse is completely made in black colors, the coating of all surfaces is matte, fortunately there are no glossy parts. Unfortunately, the palm surface is quite easily soiled, and prints are not easily removed. But due to this coating, FK1 perfectly clings to the hand. The mouse is symmetrical, body length is 128 mm. Due to its shape, the manipulator fits perfectly in the palms of almost any size, with the exception of perhaps the largest ones.

In the FK series of mice, FK1 is intermediate in size. The height of the case is relatively small and is 37 mm, and the width is 62. Weight – 90 grams. As you can see, the parameters are quite average and will suit a lot of people.

Vivchiti course

Due to its weight and dimensions, the mouse is very comfortable to use throughout the day, both in office use and in active games themselves. Due to the low center of gravity and low height, the mouse is great for quick movements, so its element is shooters and other active games. The manufacturer claims that the best grip option would be a claw and a palm, and here we are in full solidarity. Depending on palm size and personal preference, the mouse is well suited for these types of grips.

We had no complaints about the controls, except for the sensor resolution switch – it is located on the bottom and if you are used to quickly changing dpi to suit your needs, then in the case of Zowie FK1 it will be difficult. But the rest of the keys deserve high praise. In particular, the main keys – their click is almost perfect, both in length and in rigidity. There are no special questions about the wheel, it is quite ordinary and does its job well. However, as well as two pairs of side keys.

Equipment

Optical sensor Avago 3310 with a maximum resolution of 3200 dpi. Resolution is adjustable in four gradations – 400, 800, 1600 and 3200 dpi. Unfortunately, the Zowie FK1 does not have software for finer resolution adjustment. On the other hand, this simplicity can also be a plus. Each dpi preset is highlighted by an LED indicator on the bottom of the corresponding color. To connect to a PC, you need a USB port, and the mouse itself is equipped with a 2-meter highly flexible rubber cable.

ITC.UA score

Pros:
ergonomics, quality assembly and body materials

Cons:
easily soiled plastic, high cost

Conclusion:

The Zowie FK1 gaming mouse, despite its external simplicity, hides good equipment, sufficient for the vast majority of gamers, high-quality body materials and good assembly. The most important indicator of a mouse is ergonomics, which deserves high praise here. The mouse fits perfectly in the hand, it is comfortable to use even all day. The only downside is the relatively high cost. But overall, if you’re looking for a quality gaming mouse without the extra bells and whistles, the FK1 is a very good option.
