Update 3:11PM ET, December 28th: Best Buy has sold out of consoles for now.

Microsoft’s Xbox Series X keeps coming and going, but the next-gen console remains tricky to get a hold of. We just saw it go up for sale at Costco this morning but it did not last long before it sold out. Now, after a PS5 drop earlier, another chance has sprung up at Best Buy.

Right now, you can queue up for the Xbox Series X from Best Buy. The retailer is just selling the console — no bundle required — and it is open to anyone, including those who are not Best Buy Totaltech subscribers. Just click the “Add to Cart” button and be patient while you are put in a digital line. As of right now, Best Buy appears to be releasing stock in waves, meaning you may have a second opportunity even if the console appears to be sold out.

Also, be ready for Best Buy’s site to ask you to verify your information and, if possible, make sure your account is logged in on another tab while you wait in line. Once you’ve added a console to your cart, you’ll be given about 10 minutes to complete your purchase.

These consoles may need to be a late Christmas gift at this point, but, hopefully, you may have some good fortune with a local, in-store pickup.

Microsoft Xbox Series X

The Xbox Series X is Microsoft’s flagship console, serving as its most powerful (and biggest) option. While the Series S is aimed at smooth 1440p performance and takes a disc-less approach, the $500 Series X is focused on fast, 4K gameplay.

Best Buy Xbox Series X Restock: How to Get Restock Alerts

Here’s how to track Xbox Series X restocks at all major retailers

When it comes to Xbox Series X restocks, Best Buy is generally your best bet. Microsoft runs as a close second.
But, these days, stock for the Xbox Series X console is inconsistent. Sometimes there’s a Best Buy Xbox Series X restock, and inventory seems to be improving across retailers while, other times, it’s depleted for several months at a time.

Best Buy also doesn’t provide In stock alerts for any of its products online – regardless of the demand. Instead, shoppers are left incessantly rechecking the retailers’ website, and following Reddit forums for rumors of coveted console returns.

With supply chain disruptions still restricting Xbox Series X restocks, and retailers sneakily dropping stock, getting your hands on the console hasn’t been easy. The name of the game is to know as soon as stock becomes available, so you can act fast.

That’s why you should sign up with Visualping, an Xbox Series X stock tracker that’ll notify you when the console is back in stock at Best Buy. The easy online tool lets you monitor any Best Buy web page – or any retailers’ web pages – and get alerted when the product you want is back in stock.

Here’s everything you need to know about scoring the Xbox Series X at Best Buy, including how to sign up for alerts of Best Buy Xbox Series X restocks.

Best Buy Xbox Series X Restock: What Can I Expect Right Now?
Xbox Series X Restock

When Best Buy has an Xbox Series X restock, in addition to the standalone 1TB console, it usually offers bundles that include games, peripherals, or Xbox Game Pass subscriptions with your purchase.

In November 2022, Best Buy offered a package that includes a second controller, a three-month Game Pass subscription, and a copy of Halo Infinite for $640.96, knocking $24 off the combined price of this bundle.

Microsoft is also now selling refurbished units. These Xbox Series X consoles have been thoroughly vetted by Microsoft, and sell at a discount, for $469, with the purchase of a game and extra controller.

You can also bundle an additional controller with your order for a $10 discount.

Xbox Series X Deals

Price cuts on the Xbox Series X – even at Best Buy – are next to nonexistent; demand for Microsoft’s console is so high — and supply so low — that retailers simply have no incentive to offer Xbox Series X deals.

Instead of dollar-off discounts on the console itself, gamers can, however, get deals in the form of bundles and freebies.

Best Buy also tends to offer Xbox Series X deals on games and accessories. Amazon frequently discounts Xbox controllers and accessories.

Where to Buy Xbox Series X: Best Buy, Microsoft & Walmart
Xbox Series X Restock Tracker

Best Buy is your best bet for scouring for a Xbox Series X restock. Microsoft, followed by Walmart, also sometimes have console stock on hand.

Check the following links for Xbox Series X restocks at Best Buy and Microsoft.

  • Xbox Series X at Microsoft
  • Xbox Series X at Walmart

Instead of bookmarking various retailers’ product pages and repeatedly checking them for updates over time, sign up with Visualping to automatically monitor these pages, and get notified when there’s a restock.

Sign up takes two minutes. Simply enter the Best Buy product pages you want to track, select the area of the web page you want monitored, and get alerted when the “Out of stock” label changes to “Back in Stock”.

Best Buy Restock Tracking – Where Else to Look?

Beyond Best Buy, Microsoft and Walmart, there are plenty of other sites to monitor for the coveted console with Visualping.

Below are the best links for restocks.

  • Amazon: Xbox Series X | Xbox Series S
  • Dell: Xbox Series X
  • Target: Xbox Series X | Xbox Series S
  • GameStop: Xbox Series X | Xbox Series S
  • Newegg: Xbox Series X | Xbox Series S
  • Adorama: Xbox Series X & Xbox Series S bundles
  • Lenovo: Xbox Series X | Xbox Series S
  • Costco: Xbox Series X
Best Buy Xbox Series X Restock: How to Get Alerts

Best Buy doesn’t offer its own restock alerts. Instead, use an easy and simple in stock alerts
tool, like Visualping, to get updates on the products you want.

You can stay on top of back in stock products – as well as changing price tags – without all the stress and work involved in rechecking these pages yourself over time.

What is Visualping?

With over 1 million users, Visualping is a website change detection and monitoring tool that’s been mentioned by NBC, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes and Politico, among other press, as a simple and easy-to-use tool for getting restock alerts, among other website change alerts.

How Does it Work?

When it detects a page change – such as the original price crossed out, with the new Cyber Monday price next to it – you get an email alert. The alert includes a screenshot of the web page, with all the changes highlighted for you to see.

There’s also a link, at the bottom of the alert, so you can navigate to your monitored page and make your purchase – promptly, before the discount or restock catches on and everyone else rushes to snag the product for themselves.

To check for changes, Visualping takes automatic screenshots of the product page at regular intervals – every 5 minutes, 30 minutes, hourly, daily, etc – and compares each image to the last to check for changes.

Is it Free?

Visualping is free, with several affordable subscription options for higher frequency monitoring. If you’re looking for a product as in-demand as the Xbox Series X, for instance, you can automatically check the page every 5 minutes.

Check out Visualping’s pricing to learn more.

Does it do More than Best Buy Restock Alerts?

As well as a Best Buy stock checker, Visualping is often used to monitor price changes – like for Best Buy price tracking, as well as for Walmart price tracking, Amazon price tracking and Costco price tracking. You can use it to monitor any retailers’ web pages for the updates you want.

Especially during the holiday sales season, many use Visualping for Black Friday deal alerts
and Cyber Monday deal alerts.

You can also use Visualping to monitor a particular product’s stock, across a variety of retailers – like as a PS5 stock checker, Xbox Series X stock tracker, and Nintendo Switched OLED tracker.

And getting setup is easy.

Best Buy Xbox Series X Restock: How to Get Alerts?

To get started with Xbox Series Cyber Monday sale alerts, simply navigate to Visualping’s homepage, and copy and paste the URL of the product page you want to track.

Next, customize your monitoring settings, such as the part of the page you want monitored, how often you want the page checked, and the email address you want the alerts sent to.

To add items to a watchlist, so you’re monitoring the Xbox Series X deals from several retailers, simply repeat this process with each pURL you want to track for changes. You’ll have a list of monitor jobs at your disposal.

And you’re done!

Best Buy Stock Tracker Sign Up: Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Go to the homepage, and copy and paste the URL of the product page you want to monitor into the search field on Visualping’s homepage. You don’t need to first sign up. Click Go.

Step 2: Once the page appears in the viewport, select the part of the page you want monitored. For price tracking products, this is the part of the page surrounding the price.

Step 3: Specify the frequency you want Visualping to check the page – every 5 minutes, 30 minutes, hourly, daily, etc.

Step 4: Type the email address you want the alerts to be sent to. Click Start Monitoring, and that’s it!

Step 5: Visualping will send you an email, asking you to make a password for your account. Don’t forget to do this. The password completes your account, and allows you to login to your user-dashboard, where you can view all your Visualping monitors and email alerts in one location.

Set it and forget it – We’ll send you Best Buy restock alerts when your product is back in stock.

Happy Best Buy restock monitoring!

Gamers Nexus Dismantled the Xbox Series X Developer Kit (XDK) / Sudo Null IT News

Game Development *IT Company Hardware

According to Videocardz, Gamers Nexus dismantled (and not very carefully) the Xbox Series X Developer Kit (XDK) and found 40 GB of RAM in it. The retail user device only has 16 GB of RAM.

Gamers Nexus bought the XDK on eBay for €1,350. Microsoft has previously blocked this kit from working even with offline games, although it turns on and is fully functional. The company hides any information about the XDK under the NDA and tries to block all resold kits on the secondary market if the developers have not confirmed their use, according to Microsoft rules.

The XDK console runs on the same hardware as the regular Xbox Series X. It has an AMD processor with Zen 2 architecture and eight cores at 3.8 GHz each (overclocking is possible for the XDK). The graphics chip is represented by the AMD RNDA 2 architecture. The computing power of the XDK, like the Xbox Series X user console, is 12 teraflops.

The XDK case and layout is completely different from the regular version of the set-top box. It was also problematic to disassemble it without damaging the plastic latches of the panels. The standard version of the console is easy to disassemble for cleaning.

Parsing XDK showed that there is 40 GB of Samsung GDDR6 memory and 1 TB SSD. It’s not clear to experts if the RAM is split like on a retail device that has three pools for graphics (10GB @ 320bit), system memory (3. 5GB @ 192bit) and operating system (2.5GB @ 19bit).2 bits).

This large amount of memory is used for debugging data analysis and logging applications. Developers can also use this memory to decompress and test game builds that are not pre-optimized and compare their performance on the fly with tweaked versions.

Gamers Nexus warned that buying such a development kit from the hands of the current shortage of consoles is a return of money for a locked device, but in fact it can be used for spare parts. Microsoft will never unlock this bundle again.

The Xbox Series X console entered the market in November 2020 starting at $499. Since that time, Microsoft has sold more than 15 million Xbox Series X|S, with most of the deliveries to sellers being the entry-level console.

In March 2022, due to a shortage of consoles, Microsoft released refurbished Xbox Series X.

everything we know so far

The Smart Delivery program on Xbox Series X after the console launches later this year should be a major advantage for Microsoft, giving developers and publishers the opportunity to help gamers save some money when switching console generations .

If you want to know everything we know about Microsoft’s new console so far, take a look at our Xbox Series X article.

What is xbox Smart Delivery?

Smart Delivery is a technology supported by some Xbox games. In essence, its use assumes that once you buy a game, you can play it on both Xbox One and the upcoming Xbox Series X. This will primarily affect Xbox Game Studios’ own games, but Microsoft has opened the technology to other publishers and developers. Some of them have already joined.

So, for example, if you buy Cyberpunk 2077 for Xbox One, you can use the same copy, physical or digital, to play on the new Xbox Series X. And this upgrade will be free.

You might already own Smart Delivery-enabled games, like Gears 5 on the list, so you’ll be able to play it with massively improved graphics on Xbox Series X from day one. Pretty good, especially since the game is pretty cheap right now and comes with a great Xbox Game Pass subscription.

Which games will support Smart Delivery?

For now, these are mostly games that Microsoft will publish itself, such as Halo Infinite. But Namco Bandai and Ubisoft have already joined the program. Smart Delivery will support Watch Dogs Legion, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and Cyberpunk 2077. Here’s the full list of games that have been confirmed to support the technology.

  • The Ascent
  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
  • Call of the Sea
  • Chorus
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Destiny 2
  • Dirt 5
  • Gears 5
  • Halo Infinite
  • Metal: Hellslinger
  • Rainbow Six: Siege
  • Scarlet Nexus
  • Marvel’s Avengers
  • The Second Extinction
  • Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2
  • Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
  • Watch Dogs Legion
  • Yakuza: Like a Dragon

So Madden NFL 21 is not on the list?

No. EA, as usual, is going the other way: the publisher will give all players who purchase Madden NFL 21 for Xbox One before December 31, 2020 a time-limited free upgrade to the Series X version. You will need to do it before March 31, 2021.

That is, in principle, everything is about the same, but with a time limit that works in favor of buying the game closer to the launch date. It’s a bit greedy compared to full Smart Delivery support, but there’s still plenty of time for EA to change its mind.

What about FIFA 21?

For FIFA 21, EA has its own program called Dual Entitlement, not Smart Delivery. So yes, when you buy an Xbox One game, you will get a free upgrade to the Xbox Series X version (just like from PS4 to PS5). However, unlike Madden, there doesn’t seem to be a time limit, so there’s no need to rush.

No more paying for remasters?

In life, we are often forced to pay twice for the same thing, so games are unlikely to get rid of it so soon. And while there have been instances of PC gamers on Steam getting a free upgrade to a remaster when it was released on consoles, we don’t think Smart Delivery will completely replace remasters if publishers want to give new life on Xbox Series X to older Xbox One games.

In addition, remasters of games are often tried to be presented as something more valuable – they include premium additional content (story add-ons, maps, race tracks and much more), so the asking price can be quite justified.

Will there be an upgrade option for used games?

That’s a good question. We think Microsoft learned its lesson from the Xbox One pre-release days when the company briefly announced the ban on used games on the upcoming console. In general, the whole period was one big PR disaster.

We would be very surprised if these games were upgraded to the next generation through a one-time download code in the box. It will be a real reputational nightmare and a huge step back from the positive atmosphere that Microsoft has managed to create recently.

Will there be cheaper Xbox One-only versions without Smart Delivery?

This seems unlikely. Smart Delivery-enabled games don’t have to cost more so that for games like Halo Infinite and Dirt 5, you don’t have to choose between the Smart Delivery version and the standard single-console variant.

Microsoft wants to simplify things and ensure that every buyer of games like Halo Infinite or Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox One will always have the opportunity to play on Xbox Series X when they buy a new generation console months or even years later.

So the Series X game is already on the Xbox One disc?

Highly doubtful, especially given some of the games on Smart Delivery a few months before the Xbox Series X console itself. Most likely, if you insert the disc into the Series X, it will start downloading the update. Similarly, when browsing the digital library, you should be able to download the new version of the game for Xbox Series X.

If you switched to Xbox One X from a stock Xbox One, you may have noticed that many of the games in your library have major updates to get these awesome new 4K textures. We expect something like this to happen when we find Smart Delivery-enabled games on Xbox Series X in a drive or digital library.

So if your current Xbox is jam-packed with content, take a look at our pick of the best external hard drives for Xbox One.

Can I play Smart Delivery games on both consoles?

If you don’t want to sell your old console after purchasing Xbox Series X, the games must be available on both devices. This is very convenient if the consoles are in different rooms. You can save on one console and continue the game on another.

However, we still hope that these games will be so much better on Series X that we don’t want to go back to previous generation versions. And if not, then why is all this needed at all?

Will Smart Delivery be supported on PS5?

Smart Delivery is Microsoft’s own program, so if something similar comes to PS5, it will be called something else. Although Sony is much less willing to share information about the PS5.

A number of major third-party PS4 games have been confirmed to receive a free upgrade to the PS5 version. Among them are Cyberpunk 2077, FIFA 21, Marvel’s Avengers, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion.

Sony has already had similar precedents. Some PS3, PS Vita or PS4 games purchased from PSN unlocked versions for other Sony platforms at no additional cost. Some of these games even supported cross saves, so you could transfer your game progress between platforms. We hope that this functionality will be supported between Xbox One and Xbox Series X as well.

But Sony will certainly stay true to itself and release its flagship games exclusively on PS5 to fully realize the potential of the new console. Do you really need a previous generation version of Horizon: Forbidden West?

Smart Delivery is great, right?

Undoubtedly. Smart Delivery-enabled games will be fantastic value for gamers who want to play the best titles of the year before Xbox Series X launches and then switch to a new console without having to buy the same games over and over again.

Games like Cyberpunk and Assassin’s Creed are obviously going to be pretty big – they could easily exceed 100 hours. Therefore, there is a good chance that many will not have time to go through them before the release of the new console.
