If you’re looking to buy a new phone from Cricket Wireless, here are some of the best options you can get right now.

As much as we like testing and recommending flagship phones here at XDA, we understand that it doesn’t make sense for many readers to spend thousands of dollars every year to buy the best devices out there. That’s why we make it a point to curate and maintain an updated list of budget phones and carriers offering prepaid plans and more. Contrary to what you may think, you can still enjoy many of the latest and greatest features without spending a fortune. Additionally, there are carriers like Cricket Wireless that offer phones and cellular plans at a more affordable price. If you are already on Cricket Wireless or want to transfer over, there are a lot of options available. Many of our favorite picks from Cricket Wireless’ catalog are considered entry-level or mid-tier phones, but we’ve also highlighted some premium options, including the iPhone 14 Pro.

Our favorite Cricket Wireless phones in 2023

Apple iPhone 14 Pro

Best iPhone overall

The iPhone 14 Pro brings a lot of noteworthy upgrades over the predecessor, including a new front design, upgraded cameras, and the powerful A16 Bionic chip. It comes in multiple finishes, and they’re all available to purchase from Cricket Wireless right now.

Pros

  • Premium design and build quality
  • Powerful A16 Bionic chip

Cons

  • The battery life could’ve been better
  • Proprietary Lightning port

$1000 at Cricket Wireless

Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro brings a lot of new features to the iPhone lineup for the first time, including a new cutout for the front camera and FaceID, a new 48MP sensor main camera sensor, an Always-On display, a new chipset, and more. All these upgrades make the new iPhone 14 Pro a true “Pro” iPhone that justifies the premium over the regular iPhone 14 models. It’s also readily available to purchase from Cricket Wireless in the U.S., making it a solid addition to this list.

One of the highlights of the iPhone 14 Pro is the new cutout on top of the display. Apple is calling it Dynamic Island, which is essentially a funky name for a cutout that becomes active based on the apps you use. Also new to the iPhone 14 Pro models is the A16 Bionic chip. Not only is it the most powerful mobile chip on the market right now, but it also enables some cool new features, including the new Always-On display.

The new 48MP main camera sensor is also a nice addition, allowing you to capture more detailed shots. We highly recommend you check out our iPhone 14 Pro Max review, where we go into detail about the new camera sensor and show off some samples. The regular iPhone 14 Pro and the Pro Max models are largely the same, except you get a bigger display and battery with the Max variant.

Cricket Wireless carries all four colors of the iPhone 14 Pro: Space Black, Silver, Deep Purple, and Gold. You can also choose between 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options, though some models are already running out of stock. You can either choose to pay the full price of the phone upfront or get it financed with $63 monthly payments.

Apple iPhone SE 3 (2022)

Best budget iPhone

The iPhone SE (2022) is the most affordable iPhone you can buy right now. While it’s not the most powerful one on the market, it still contains the great A15 Bionic chip, offering a lot of value for the money.

Pros

  • Powerful A15 Bionic chip
  • Guranteed longevity with software updates

Cons

  • Dated design
  • Low-res display

$480 at Cricket Wireless

Apple’s iPhone SE 3 is one of the best options for most users on the Cricket Wireless network, mainly from a price-to-performance point of view. This new model carries the same iPhone 8 body, but it comes with updated internals to match some of the newer iPhones on the market. There’s a lot to like about the iPhone SE 3, and it’s an excellent phone for those who don’t want to spend upwards of $1,000 on a new smartphone.

One of the best things about the iPhone SE 3 is that it comes with Apple’s A15 Bionic chip. This means the iPhone SE 3 is just as performant as the iPhone 13 series and even the new iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus models. Apple’s A-series chips are known to be powerful and more reliable than even some top-tier chips in the Android space. So it’s safe to say that the iPhone SE 3 will serve you well for many years.

The fact that the iPhone SE 3 carries the same design as the iPhone 8 also means it’s relatively compact in the sea of massive phones that are coming out these days. It’s also the only iPhone to use TouchID, which makes it unique by itself. The trade-off is obviously the massive bezels on the front that makes this phone look very old compared to the newer iPhones with a notch and Dynamic Island.

The iPhone SE 3 also runs the latest iOS 16 software, which means it gets some neat iOS features that you enjoy on some of the latest iPhones. Apple is also known to keep its devices on the latest software for a long time, so we expect the iPhone SE 3 to stay relevant even, say, 3 or 4 years down the line.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE

Best Android phone overall

The Galaxy S21 FE is worth a look if you don’t want to spend upwards of $1,000 on modern Android phones. It’s an excellent budget phone that offers great value for money, especially for $500 at Cricket Wireless.

Pros

  • Good build quality
  • Affordable price tag

Cons

  • The cameras could’ve been better
  • Slow charging speeds

$300 at Cricket Wireless

The Galaxy S21 FE may not be the most premium Samsung smartphone right now, but it’s one of the best Android options on the Cricket Wireless network. The Galaxy S21 FE is a cheaper alternative if you don’t want to pay the full price for the new Galaxy flagships, so it trades some of the premium features for a relatively cheaper price tag.

There’s a lot to like about the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, including its FHD+ display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The AMOLED display gets bright enough and has vibrant colors with crisp visuals. The rear casing of the phone, as you can see, is made out of plastic, but we like how the camera island at the back melts into the rest of the shell instead of sticking out separately.

The Galaxy S21 FE is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC in the U.S. and a Samsung Exynos 2100 SoC nearly everywhere else. The variant sold on Cricket Wireless will come with the Snapdragon 888 chip. It’s not the fastest chip around, but it should be enough to help you get through your day-to-day workloads without any issues. The phone also comes with Samsung’s promise of three Android OS updates and four years of security patches.

As for the optics, we’re looking at a triple camera setup that includes a 12MP ultra-wide, a 12MP primary camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera. The photos captured using the Galaxy S21 FE are mostly on par with what you’d get from other modern Samsung phones, so no complaints. You can check out our Galaxy S21 FE review to check out some camera samples to get a better idea of what to expect.

Samsung Galaxy A54 5G

Best mid-range Android phone

The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G is a great mid-range phone. It offers a sleek design, a beautiful 120Hz display, plenty of power under the hood, and a triple camera setup on the back.

Pros

  • Beautiful OLED panel
  • Reliable day-to-day performance

Cons

  • Macro sensor is average at best
  • Slow charging speeds

$410 at Cricket Wireless

Samsung’s new Galaxy A54 is officially here, and it’s replacing its predecessor as the best mid-range Android phone in this collection. As we mentioned in our review, this particular phone brings a lot of noteworthy improvements over the outgoing to offer a better experience overall. Samsung has changed the design of this phone to make it look similar to its flagship phones.

As far as the internals are concerned, you are looking at Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1380 chip coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. You can add a microSD card to unlock more storage, so don’t let the 128GB base storage affect your purchase decision. The Galaxy A54 5G also has a beautiful 6.4-inch OLED panel with support for up to 120Hz refresh rate.

Samsung has also improved the optics this time around, and it’s a good package that helps you capture good photos and videos. You still can’t shoot 4K videos at 60fps using this phone, though, but it should be enough for casual users. The best thing about the Galaxy A54 5G is that it comes with Samsung’s update commitment, meaning you can expect it to receive four major Android updates and up to five years of security updates.

The Galaxy A54 5G is readily available to purchase from the Cricket Wireless website for $410, which is cheaper than what you’d pay for it at other retailers. It’s only available in the ‘Awesome Black’ color, so keep that in mind.

Motorola Moto G 5G (2022)

Best budget Android phone

The Moto G 5G (2022) offers a good set of internals for the price, delivering a decent budget phone experience overall. There is a lot to like about this particular phone and it’s a steal, especially when you can get it for free with a new line.

Pros

  • Long-lasting 5,000mAh battery
  • Carries an affordable price tag

Cons

  • Slow charging speed
  • The cameras could’ve been better

See at Cricket Wireless

The Moto G (2022) is one of the few budget phones available to purchase at Cricket Wireless. A lot of the older Moto G phones are solid budget phones, and the new Moto G 5G (2022) is no different. It may not move the needle in a meaningful way, but it offers enough value to earn a spot on our list over similarly-priced phones.

The new Moto G 5G has a very simple design that looks a lot like many other Moto phones that are available to purchase on the market. It’s got a simple plastic back panel with just the camera island and the Moto logo. It sports a 6.5-inch HD+ display with support for up to 90Hz refresh rate. The HD+ display is a little bit of a bummer, but it makes up for it with 90Hz refresh rate support.

The device is powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 700 chip which comes with up to 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone also supports expandable storage via a microSD card, which is great. One of the highlights of this particular phone is that it comes with a massive 5,000mAh battery inside. You can expect this phone to last for a long time between charges, but it only supports 10W charging, meaning it might take a while to get to 100%.

The Moto G (2022) comes with a triple camera setup at the back that includes a 50MP main sensor and two 2MP macro and depth sensors. Selfies, on the other hand, are handled by a 13MP front-facing camera. Best of all, you can get the Moto G 5G (2022) for free if you’re a new Cricket Wireless customer and activate a $60/mo plan.

Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G

Best budget phone with a stylus

The Moto G Stylus 5G can be had for free from Cricket Wireless provided you activate your number on the network with a $60/mo plan.

Pros

  • Excellent battery life
  • Included stylus

Cons

  • Limited performance

See at Cricket Wireless

If you don’t mind spending a little bit more money over the asking price of the regular Moto G 5G (2022), then we recommend checking out the Moto G Stylus 5G. You can also get a great deal on this phone at Cricket Wireless, making it a good addition to this list.

The Moto G Stylus isn’t the best-looking phone on the market, but it sticks to the basics and offers a tried-and-tested design with a plastic back. It comes in a couple of finishes, but Cricket Wireless is only offering the phone in ‘Steel Blue’ color, which is what we featured in our review. The back of the phone looks very simple, with just the camera island and a Moto logo in the center.

The highlight of the phone is obviously the included stylus. This is a passive stylus, meaning it doesn’t need charging, but it also doesn’t have Bluetooth, so it’ll have limited functionality. You can still use it for drawing on screenshots, doodling, writing notes, etc.

The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 695 chip, which performed quite well during our testing. This particular chip is no slouch, and it should be sufficient to run games like Diablo Immortal. It comes with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. You also get an option to expand the storage via a microSD card up to 2TB, so it’s great for those who install a lot of apps and games. The device also packs a 5,000mAh battery that should last a long time on a single charge.

All things considered, the Moto G Stylus is a good phone overall. Cricket Wireless will also let you have it for free when you bring your number and activate it with a monthly payment.

The best Cricket Wireless phones in 2023: Final say

Cricket Wireless’ catalog is fairly limited if you are browsing for phones that are directly sold by the carrier, and there aren’t too many high-end devices besides iPhones. That said, the iPhone 14 Pro is currently the best overall pick in this collection. It’s a high-end flagship that comes with a lot of bells and whistles and offers a well-rounded experience for the price. Of course, that means you’ll have to enter Apple’s walled garden, but it’s the only flagship on this list that’s easy to recommend. It comes with a lot of great features, including a beautiful Retina display with Dynamic Island, improved internals, a better set of optics, and more.

Those looking to pick up an Android instead will have to check out the Galaxy S21 FE or the new Galaxy A54 5G. You can bring any unlocked phone of your choice as long as it’s compatible with Cricket Wireless, but these are our top picks from the ones directly available to purchase from the carrier. We’ve also included some other options, including the Moto G 5G, so be sure to explore the entire list before making a purchase decision.

5 Things To Know Before You Sign Up

If you’re looking for ways to save on your cell phone bill, you may be considering Cricket Wireless as your provider.

In this article, I’ll take a closer look at Cricket Wireless’s plans and pricing, how to get started, and what to expect from Cricket Wireless’s service.

I signed up for Cricket Wireless for 30 days to try out the service myself. I’ve also compared more than 70 different available phone plans to see how Cricket holds up.

Cricket Wireless is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) that provides access to AT&T’s cellular network. It’s a reliable service provider and was even named one of the best full-service MVNOs by the American Customer Satisfaction Index earlier this year.

At Clark.com, we also recommend Cricket Wireless as one of AT&T’s best MVNOs and highlight its unlimited plan as one of the best multiline phone plans.

Plans begin as low as $30 per month per line for 5GB of high-speed data. It’s easy and free to activate service by buying a SIM card online, but know that there’s a $25 activation fee if you visit a Cricket Wireless store in person. For this reason, I recommend activating your service online.

That’s what I did when I tested out Cricket Wireless’s 5GB plan for 30 days to explore its coverage, call and text performance, customer service and more.

Table of Contents:

  • Plans and Pricing
  • Activation Process
  • Call and Text Performance
  • Data Speeds
  • Customer Service
  • Methodology

Below, you’ll find more information about Cricket Wireless including what plans are available, how reliable the service is and whether or not you should consider it as your mobile carrier.

Plans and Pricing

Cricket Wireless offers four different plans. You can join any plan with just a single line and add up to five lines for additional discounts.

In the table below, you’ll see how much each Cricket Wireless plan costs per line per month. Prices include autopay where discounts apply; taxes and fees are included.

1 Line 2 Lines 3 Lines 4 Lines 5 Lines
5GB $30 $30 $30 $30 $30
10GB $35 $35 $30 $28 $26
Unlimited $50 $40 $30 $25 $25
Unlimited + 15GB Mobile Hotspot $55 $45 $37 $33 $32

All of these plans include unlimited talk, text and picture messaging in the United States as well as HD voice and Wi-Fi calling. Each Cricket Wireless plan also provides 5G access on capable devices and unlimited data at 128 Kbps after your monthly data usage limit is reached.

One of the plans worth noting is Cricket Wireless’s unlimited plan: It’s available for $25 per line with four lines. That means all four lines will get unlimited high-speed data for $100 total! This is the plan that earned Cricket Wireless a spot in our top picks for the best multiline phone plan.

Customers on this unlimited plan will have access to unlimited high-speed data; however, they may notice slow data speeds when the network is busy. Cricket Wireless’s top-tier unlimited data plan claims to offer premium data that won’t slow based on usage.

The most expensive unlimited plan is also the only plan from Cricket Wireless that includes mobile hotspot. It includes 15GB of mobile hotspot data, 150GB of cloud storage and a free HBO Max subscription (with ads).

When it comes to charges and additional fees, I didn’t experience many with Cricket Wireless. I avoided the activation fee by purchasing my SIM card online. The SIM card did cost $9.99 online, but the alternative is to pay a $25 activation fee at a Cricket Wireless store.

All Cricket Wireless plans are prepaid monthly. There aren’t any long-term contracts or overage fees. To learn more about each specific plan, visit Cricket Wireless’s website.

Activation Process

If you decide to switch to Cricket Wireless, I recommend activating your service online to avoid the $25 activation fee. The process is fast and easy to do. In this section, I’ll walk you through the process I followed when I tried out the 5GB plan myself. I’ll also share how I was able to get a month of service for less than $16!

To get started, I visited Cricket Wireless’s website and chose the 5GB monthly plan. Then, I was able to choose between buying a Cricket Wireless phone (some are even free) and bringing my own device. I chose to bring my own.

Then I checked my device’s compatibility by entering its IMEI number.

Screenshot from Cricket Wireless

Once I verified that my phone was compatible, I selected the type of SIM card I’d need. The options included voice and data or data only, new customer or current customer, and porting my old phone number or getting a new one.

The SIM kit cost $9.99 online. Once I added it to my shopping cart, I was prompted to enter my ZIP code. Then, I was able to add an additional line or proceed to checkout.

Screenshot from Cricket Wireless

The total was $30 for the monthly plan plus $9.99 for the SIM card and free next-business-day shipping. My bill came to $40.74 after taxes. The taxes were applied only to the SIM card; the monthly plan rate was $30 exactly moving forward.

Screenshot from Cricket Wireless

Fortunately, I was able to find an offer from my Chase credit card for $25 cash back on Cricket Wireless, so I was actually able to test the phone plan for only $15. 74 total! Be sure to check offers on your cash back credit cards before switching phone service providers for potential additional savings.

During this process, I was also able to choose whether or not I wanted to opt into autopay. After verifying the information and agreeing to the terms and conditions, I placed my order.

The next day, I received an email shipment confirmation. I received my SIM card in the mail the following business day.

I inserted the Cricket Wireless SIM card, turned my phone on and went to cricketwireless.com/activate. There, I had to choose my device type, purchase location and the fact that I’m a new customer.

I was then able to enter my order number and Cricket phone number to activate my service. All of this information was in my initial email order confirmation.

Screenshot from Cricket Wireless

After that, I restarted my phone, and I was able to place a test call.

Call and Text Performance

Over the course of 30 days, I tried out Cricket Wireless’s service by making and receiving phone calls as well as sending and receiving text messages.

During the month that I tested Cricket Wireless’s service, I experienced consistently reliable, clear service with no dropped calls or undelivered text messages. However, service can vary from one area to the next.

Cricket Wireless provides access to AT&T’s network and nationwide coverage. To see if the Cricket Wireless network offers coverage in your area, check out its coverage map.

Screenshot from Cricket Wireless

If you visit Cricket Wireless’s website, you can enter your address or ZIP code to see if you’ll have service in your area. You can also see what specific types of coverage is available including 4G/LTE and 5G data.

Data Speeds

Cricket Wireless offers access to AT&T’s 4G/LTE and 5G networks. Based on my experience as well as AT&T’s coverage map, you’ll likely have reliable access to data with this MVNO.

To make sure you’ll be covered before switching to Cricket Wireless, be sure to enter your address on its coverage map online. You can also look at AT&T’s coverage map to get a better idea of service in your area since this is the network Cricket Wireless uses.

In addition to good coverage, you’ll also likely experience average download speeds with Cricket Wireless. When I tried out Cricket Wireless, I checked the data speeds using speediest.net by Ookla.

Screenshot from Ookla

The download speed was usually around 20 Mbps. The fastest download speed I saw was 31.63 Mbps, while the slowest download speed I saw was 12.27 Mbps.

According to Consumer Reports, 18 Mbps is the minimum speed necessary for streaming 4K movies and TV shows. Netflix recommends a download speed of 25 Mbps for streaming 4K. Amazon says you’ll need a download speed of at least 8 Mbps for SD video and 40 Mbps for HD video on Prime.

Based on these numbers, Cricket Wireless’s high-speed data is fast enough to do most things online, including streaming SD video.

Unfortunately, the only plan that Cricket Wireless offers that includes mobile hotspot is its most expensive unlimited data plan. I wasn’t able to test Cricket Wireless’s mobile hotspot download speeds on the 5GB plan.

However, it was easy to monitor my mobile data usage throughout the month on the Cricket Wireless app. The plan I tried came with 5GB of high-speed data monthly, but there are several different options available. If you choose a plan that isn’t unlimited, you’ll experience slower speeds once you’ve exceeded your monthly high-speed data limit.

Customer Service

Good customer service is important in a phone carrier. Unfortunately, nearly all major companies seem to be struggling with it these days. Whether it’s extended wait times or unhelpful representatives, dealing with customer service with phone service providers can be a pain.

To see how long I’d have to wait for service and what type of service I’d get, I contacted Cricket Wireless in both possible ways: via phone and online chat.

To contact Cricket Wireless, you can visit the website or mobile app to chat with an agent or call Cricket Wireless at 1-800-274-2538 Monday-Saturday between 9 a. m. and 9 p.m. or Sunday between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. EST. Online chat representatives are available until 11 p.m. each night.

When I contacted the Cricket Wireless customer service phone line, I was warned that wait times were longer than normal. Ultimately, I had to wait around seven minutes to talk to a customer representative on the phone. The automated messaging system can be tricky to navigate, but I just continually asked to speak with a representative when I was offered automated assistance.

But I was connected with a live agent in under two minutes via online chat. The automated system for chat was also a little difficult to navigate, but the agent I was connected to was knowledgeable and polite.

Methodology

Before I began testing phone plans, I highlighted the key factors that I would be exploring. This way, I would be able to accurately compare phone plans and get a full overview of what to expect from the service.

Here are the key factors I focused on while trying out each phone plan:

  • Length of Time. I tested each phone plan for 30 days to observe the network’s reliability and gather feedback from friends and family regarding service.
  • Signing Up. I signed up for each phone plan myself to document the process of getting started, testing phone compatibility or bringing your own device, how long it takes to receive the SIM card and the activation process.
  • Reliability. I used my personal AT&T line as a base to see how often the tested phone plan had service and noted any dropped calls/undelivered text messages.
  • Service. During the month, I made/received at least 15 calls and sent/received at least 15 text messages. I also tested the phone’s data speed speedtest.net.
  • Customer Support. During my time testing out each phone service, I contacted customer support in all available ways to determine which method is best, how long it took to reach a person and how helpful the experience was.

Final Thoughts

Ultimately, I had a great experience during the month that I tested Cricket Wireless for this review. I had good service and coverage throughout the whole experience, and the data speeds were fast enough for basic browsing and streaming.

I didn’t experience any dropped calls or undelivered text messages with Cricket Wireless, and I didn’t have a bad experience with customer service either. The app was very intuitive and useful for checking data usage and paying bills online.

However, I do wish that all of the plans came with mobile hotspot data, and I hate that there’s a $25 activation fee for purchasing your SIM card in person at a Cricket Wireless store.

If you’re thinking about switching to Cricket Wireless, ask yourself these questions first:

  • Is AT&T’s network strong in your area? You can check Cricket Wireless’s coverage map and AT&T’s coverage map online to see if you’ll have service in your area before switching.
  • Is your current phone compatible with Cricket Wireless? You can check your phone’s compatibility online. Cricket Wireless does offer phones from $0, but you can save even more by bringing your own phone and opting for a cheaper plan.
  • Are you comfortable activating the service online? Cricket Wireless charges a $25 activation fee in-store whether you’re bringing your own phone or buying a new one. You can avoid this fee by purchasing your SIM card online.

How to unlock Cricket phone

Author Verbitsky Andrey For reading 4 min. 65 views Posted by

Cricket may not be the most famous wireless service on the market, but being a subsidiary of AT&T, it’s a great choice for locals who are looking for a cheaper wireless service than what many majors offer companies. However, as with large companies, you may want to relocate or travel to areas where cell signal is poor, or you don’t want to rack up absurd expenses when traveling overseas. That’s why it’s so nice to be able to unlock your phone in Cricket. Once you unlock your cricket phone, you can easily insert another carrier’s SIM card for better cellular coverage or use cheaper local wireless when traveling internationally.

So how exactly do you unlock Cricket’s phone? Follow the steps below and we’ll walk you through the entire process step by step.

Contents

  1. Prerequisites
  2. How to unlock your Cricket phone
  3. Use a third party service
  4. Verdict

Prerequisites

Cricket , like other carriers, there are some prerequisites that you must meet. before you can request to unlock your phone.

  1. The device you want to unlock has been active for at least six 6 months of paid service.
  2. The device is intended for use in the Cricket network and is blocked for it.
  3. The device was not lost or stolen. otherwise known as the “black list”.
  4. The device is not associated with a fraudulent account; your account must also be in “good standing”.

Cricket is actually one of the few carriers that support the military quite well. Cricket’s policy is that they will unlock one Cricket smartphone for a service employee who does not qualify, but that person will be required to provide deployment papers or other supporting documentation.

How to Unlock a Cricket Phone

Cricket actually makes it pretty easy to get an unlock code if you meet the requirements. To do this online on the Cricket website, follow these steps:

  1. Log in, go to Account Settings and select Get code .
  2. Scroll down to find the phone number or line you want to unblock.
  3. Select Request Unlock .
  4. The unlock code for eligible Android phones will automatically be displayed on the screen and also sent to your phone in a text message if you qualify. The unlock process for eligible iPhone users is slightly different, as they will receive their unlock code in a text message the next business day.

You can also use the Cricket app to unlock your phone.

  1. Download and open the myCricket app.
  2. If you are already logged into the application, be sure to log out.
  3. From there, you can click Unlock device on the app login screen.
  4. Click Unlock at the bottom of the screen.
  5. After successfully unlocking your phone, please restart it to complete the process. After the restart, you will be able to take your Cricket phone and use it on any other network, including international ones.

As we have already mentioned, Cricket is one of the few telecom operators supporting the military with excellent telecom services. If you need a faster unlock, here is the official message from Cricket:

“If you are in the military and need a expedited unlock before you deploy, please call Customer Service at 1-800-CRICKET (1-800-274-2538) or dial 611 from your Cricket phone. We appreciate your service. ”

Use a third party service

Unfortunately, red tape is something you have to wade through on almost every carrier out there; however, if you want to skip it and don’t mind paying a few extra dollars to skip it, you can use a third-party service to unlock your phone. By using a third party unlock company, you can instantly connect your phone to a different network and take the hassle out of your carrier. It usually costs money, which can range from a couple to $60 on average.

However, you should look for and research good companies for this. Make sure they have a good reputation otherwise you might end up giving your money to someone in return for, well, nothing. After the purchase, the code is usually sent directly to the provided email address, after which you can follow the indicated steps to unlock your phone.

Verdict

As you can see, like other operators, Cricket has some strict requirements that you must meet in order for your smartphone to be unlocked. This is usually the case because they want you to stay in their network and not go to the competitor’s network. However, Cricket still has a process to unlock the phone. But, if you don’t meet these requirements or get rejected, you can use a third party service to unlock your phone if you’re willing to pay the added cost.

Cricket may not be the best-known wireless service on the market, but being a subsidiary of AT&T, it’s a great choice for locals looking for cheaper wireless service than what many big companies offer. Use a third party service

Unfortunately, bureaucratic red tape is a thing you have to go through with almost every medium; however, if you want to skip it and don’t mind paying a few extra dollars to skip it, you can use a third-party service to unlock your phone.
