After reviewing the bench marks of the 970 Evo Plus I purchased two of the M.2 SSD’s & I must write, the improvements are there. If I had a CON it would not be against the SSD itself but the tool Magician; although a very good tool it does not allow access to M.2’s.

1 month in I’ve had no issues. I also needed a little tray for installation in to a Lenovo laptop – be sure to check what you may need. I only discovered that during my first attempt to install it.

More space on my C: drive.
I swapped out my 128 GB SSD root drive with this 500 GB SSD using the cloning software downloaded from Samsung and an adapter. (Because my Dell computer had but one slot, I had to buy a $49. adapter for the cloning process.) My computer booted right up and has been working flawlessly ever since.

When I bought this ssd they told me it’s 2280 but not 2230 then my laptop only have 1 2280 placed this ssd because of that my other 2 ssd got problems I have to reboot them if I want use this one, It make me lose a lot of important informations, so beware full and ask twice before you placed.

A SSD that doesn’t slow down w/age.
my samsung 970 evo plus 500gb nvme m.2 is no doubt the best ssd! i’ve used mine since shortly after it first came out and i’ve used/use others as well. my 970 still scores top speeds on tests where as other ssds i use tend to get worn out and slow down over time. i ran smartctl yesterday and my 970 has 51 tb written and still scores 2,900-3,200 reads/writes when tested. i believe it will live up to the 300tbw lifespan that the 500gb has. sure is good nowadays to be able to trust that something works because many are a let down but not samsung! excellent ssds! highly recommend!!

Boot Device Not Found
i wanted to upgrade my storage on my desktop, but when i turned on my pc it says “boot device not found”. i don’t have any other hard drives, i went to hp bios and hp support, but nothing helped. am i doing something wrong?

BUY AGAIN, I WOULD!
It has been over 2 years and this drive is working more so than I expected! No problems or hiccups especially with my being a video editor, I need reliability and this drive doesn’t slow down when it gets hot–even when I’ve been editing for over 3 hours! I plan on ordering another one soon to replace the Crucial drive I currently have in the my system. I’ve installed 2 other drives in my laptop and my parent’s computer and most products can not compete with the performance of your drives. Thank you SAMSUNG for your making dependable products.

All my Raid and Time Machine and etc.
I’ve been using Samsung NVMe since 2018 on 4 Mac OS machines with Raid and never a problem with losing photography, data, video or nada. I do make goofy errors but not with solid 970 & 980 EVOs keeping me out of priceless losses.

This is my second 970 evo plus NVMe drive and it’s a great performer for the price. This NVMe drive I use in an external USB case where it is a backup for my laptop files. I couldn’t be happier with it. I will continue buying this model as long as it’s made!

Soooooo Fast!
Upgraded to a 860 Evo 2.5″ drive last year and I thought that was fast. Dropped this in and made it my main drive with the 860 as bulk storage and WOW it is rediculous. Totally worth it and easy to set up. Installed it, cloned it, changed the boot order in the BIOS and done. Supercharged my Inspiron 7570. 100% recommended!
