private investor

Vizio (NYSE: VZIO) is an American technology company based in Irvine, California that produces smart TVs with its own entertainment platform and audio systems for home use. The business went public in the spring of 2021 and, after an IPO, listed its shares on the New York Stock Exchange.

What’s wrong

The eternal history of IPO. The company placed shares on the stock exchange in the spring of 2021, and this was already the second attempt by Vizio to go public: the first entry was unsuccessful in 2015. After the placement, the shares grew for several weeks on the rush demand and then from July 2021 began a protracted fall, which continues to this day. day. At the end of April 2022, the company’s securities lost 76% of their value from peak values.

Debt load. The level of the issuer’s debt is not critical, but noticeable enough to talk about it: liabilities exceed assets almost twice, and the debt ratio is 0.65 — the company’s liabilities make up 65% of its total assets.

Strong competitor. Vizio is rightfully compared to the American platform Roku, which the issuer noticeably loses in many indicators: according to the January report of Nscreenmedia, Roku leads in terms of the number of active accounts, audience engagement and average revenue per user.

Source: Finance Marker, Nscreenmedia Source: Finance Marker, Nscreenmedia

What’s good

Can buy. The company did not have a capitalization that was too large by the standards of the sector even at the peak of demand for its shares, and now the market valuation has completely decreased by almost three times – from 3. 67 to 1.29billion dollars. Therefore, at this stage, the previously stated argument becomes even more relevant: with a sufficient margin of safety, Vizio shares are quite reasonable to buy with the expectation that the company itself will be acquired by one of the major market players.

Evaluation returns to normal. The fall in the share price and the contraction of the market capitalization have a positive effect on the fundamental valuation of the company and “blow off” key indicators to more acceptable values.

For example, Vizio’s P / BV multiple, which reflects the ratio of capitalization to equity, is still too big for the most conservative investors, but compared to 2020, it has already decreased by more than 6 times.

Even more interesting is the P / S multiplier, which shows the ratio of the company’s capitalization to revenue: now, when buying shares, every ruble of business income costs investors with a significant discount.

Strong growth in advertising revenue. The company has had significant success selling ads on its entertainment platform. With many streaming services declining in 2021 as lockdowns eased and people returned to outdoor activities, Vizio’s ad revenue grew by a whopping 111% compared to 2020, from 39up to 82 mln. 3509 2021 3668 2021 TTM 1285

What is the result

Vizio produces products important for any person that will be in demand for a long time to come: it is difficult to imagine a modern home without a TV and speakers, and its own content platform only strengthens user loyalty.

The company’s shares have fallen heavily since going public, but at the same time, this provides fertile ground for speculative transactions in the expectation that the shares will rise in the future due to increased demand or simply the purchase of the entire business by another company.

TV Vizio P502ui-B1. Review, reviews

TV Vizio P502ui-B1 model with 50 inch screen, 4K TV line and cost up to $1000. Despite the low price category, the TV impresses with its image quality. Let’s take a look at Vizio P502ui-B1 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV with 50 inch P line screen, its features and performance.

I would like to note right away that the P502ui-B1 TV in the 4K TV segment with such a price is very attractive. If you are interested in the P502ui-B1 4K TV model, then below is its overview and main characteristics. Chances are you won’t be able to find a more affordable model on the market with the same 4K picture quality and price as the Vizio P502ui-B1.

Vizio P502ui-B1 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV Review

The Vizio P502ui-B1 hit the market with great specifications for a 4K Smart LED TV and at a low price. The model costs under $1000, and this figure gives it every right to become a popular 4K TV in the P line. For comparison, a review of the VIZIO M43-C1 M series TV is offered.

Image quality
Consider the image quality of the Vizio P502ui-B TV, where are the pluses, where are the minuses. The picture quality of the P502ui-B1 is unbeatable in today’s 4K market. This became possible when Vizio began to apply all modern image processing technologies in the 4K TV segment. Vizio uses modern hardware components as the basis for video processing, such as the VM50 UHD Engine series processor.

This is the heart of the TV on the P502ui-B1 TV motherboard. This model uses the technology of 64 active zones for backlighting the screen matrix, the manufacturer Vizio calls the technology “64 Active LED Zones”.

Full backlight of the screen matrix is made using “LED backlight” technology, active pixel control “Active Pixel Tuning”, P3 (Pure Pixel Processing) function and some other novelties. The result is stunning image quality. Contrast levels are very strict, dark colors look amazing, and brightness is excellent.

Upscaling
Compare the Vizio P502ui-B1 TV’s upscaling function to something similar in terms of “4K-Upscaling”. This function perfectly copes with any SD and HD format, the output is a gorgeous 4K picture. Not many TVs are capable of this.

The Vizio P502ui-B1 fully complies with the SSE (Spatial Scaling Engine) specification in terms of image scaling support. And as a result, all HD or Full HD content is displayed on the TV in 4K resolution on the P502ui-B1 easily and without delay.

Watching action scenes
Whatever you watch a program with dynamic images, you will not notice any freezes, be it a sports program or a computer game, if the TV is used as a monitor for a computer (for example, Need for Speed or Fast And Furious).

The refresh rate of the Vizio P502ui-B1 TV screen is 240 Hz – this is the merit of the applied “Clear Action rate 960” technology. The technology combines the screen refresh rate and image processing using a special processor. There may be slight blurring of the image, but not every end user will notice this.

Viewing Angle
The Vizio P502ui-B1 TV uses a new technology that optimizes the picture and makes the viewing angle of the TV screen as wide as possible. But it cannot be compared with the same parameters as LG TVs with a curved panel and IPS matrix technology or Samsung with the same type of screen. In this TV, the viewing angle is not more than 20 degrees (from the center) without distortion of the color gamut and contrast, which is not bad at all for an LED TV.

Operating system
Let’s look at the operating system under which the Vizio P502ui-B1 TV operates. Vizio has gone its own way, and uses personal development as a Smart TV platform. In P502ui-B1 it is called “Vizio Internet Apps Plus”. This platform is mainly focused on playing 4K content via network streaming.

The Vizio 50″ P series TV is equipped with a high-speed built-in Wi-Fi wireless network adapter, a six-core processor (manufacturer’s marketing ploy) “V6 Processor”, which in turn divides the number of cores into a dual-core main processor CPU and quad-core graphics processor GPU.

This processing power has resulted in superior 4K streaming speed. The resources of the TV allow you to buffer and output 4K content without delay. Of course, you should not forget about the minimum Internet connection speed so that the P502ui-B1 TV does not shut up because of such trifles …
Screen size 49.50 in. Screen resolution 4K Screen refresh rate 240 Hz Clear Action Rate 960 Pixel Gamma Control “64 Active LED Zones” Matrix illumination type “Full Array LED” Up-Scaling Processor Spatial Scaling Main processor “VM50 UHD” Number of audio channels 2 Audio System Output 10W x 2 Smart TV platform “Vizio Internet Apps Plus” Processor allocation V6 Six-core: quad-core video GPU and dual-core CPU Number of HDMI ports 5 Number of USB ports 1

Verdict

Positive
•Full Array LED Backlight and 64 zone active LED Zones — strong contrast, deep blacks, perfect whites.
•VM50 image processor.
• 240Hz screen refresh rate with Clear Action 960 – High-quality video with dynamic images.
•V6 – six-core processor, and high-speed Wi-Fi wireless connection for superior 4K streaming.
Negative
•Color and contrast change when the viewing angle is more than 20 degrees off-center.
•No 3D function.
• Smart TV apps are only suitable for 4K streaming from the network.

Vizio P502ui-B1 review summary

For this price range, the Vizio P502ui-B1 TV is simply excellent. The image is quite bright and saturated in the P502ui-B1 4K, the contrast and high color saturation amaze the user. A minus can be put due to the lack of a 3D function, but I don’t think that anyone will suffer from this.

Most buyers don’t pay much attention to 3D, especially since quality 3D content is hard to come by. Note that the operating system is “sharpened” for playing 4K streaming.

Customer Reviews

What are the customer reviews of the Vizio P502ui-B1 TV, what do they say about the picture quality and ease of use of the Vizio 50 Inch 4K TV? Among these TVs, the Vizio P502ui-B1 ranks above average in terms of picture quality and available features.
