quip combines the low cost, light weight, and simplicity of a manual brush with the guiding features and fresh feel of an electric. Positives we share with many electrics are soft nylon bristles, sensitive vibrations, 2-minute built-in timer, and 30-second pulses. Improvements we made are a longer 3-month battery life, better value (from $25), affordable brush heads, and a lifetime warranty on a refill plan. We also ditched the extra modes, wires, and clunky chargers you don’t need to make quip perfect for every day, everywhere.

quip is powered by the same regular or rechargeable batteries as other electric brushes (AAA in our case). The difference with quip is its removable AAA battery that lasts for over 3 months. Other electrics with locked-in batteries may force you to keep a useless brush even if they stop working, or simply add expense with a separate charging stand. But remember, the efficacy of your toothbrush isn’t defined by power itself, but by how well you follow a proper brushing routine.

If you don’t absolutely love your quip, we accept returns within 30 days of purchase. You’ll get a full product cost refund if you use your own label. Should you need a shipping label from our help team, shipping costs will apply for returns of up to four quips in the United States. quip subscriptions are optional and be canceled anytime. While your quip was designed to last, all quips (that have an active refill plan) are guaranteed for life, just in case something happens. If there’s a problem, simply reach out to [email protected] and they’ll be able to help you troubleshoot. In the case of manufacturing issues, we’ll supply you with a new quip upon inspection of your faulty one (reviewed remotely). How lazy to brush your teeth sometimes – fussed a couple of times with a brush and that’s it. Then you have to fork out for the treatment of another caries. But with an electric toothbrush, even the laziest brushing turns into a much more efficient process. And if you still use the gadget according to the instructions and follow the recommendations, the result can really surprise you.

Emmi-dent 6 Professional Platinum

Emmi-dent 6 Professional Platinum. Photo: Emmi-dent

Emmi-dent 6 Professional Platinum is the world’s only patented ultrasonic toothbrush. Unlike its electric counterparts, it allows you to clean your teeth and gums without the usual hand movements. The device of the German brand is equipped with an ultrasonic chip, which is built into a replaceable nozzle. Ultrasound operates in a safe “therapeutic” range at a frequency of 1.6 MHz with a power of only 0.2 watts. During the operation of the brush, the chip generates ultrasonic vibrations and millions of microbubbles are formed in the toothpaste, which neutralize bacteria and remove plaque. Ultrasound gently cleans the surface of the teeth, periodontal pockets and interdental spaces. Teeth become glossy, and the feeling of cleanliness lasts up to 12 hours. Due to the absence of friction during brushing, the brush is suitable for people with sensitive enamel and gums, braces, implants and dentures.

Emmi-dent 6 Professional Platinum has two modes of operation – with and without vibration. The kit includes a replacement nozzle. The brush comes with a branded non-abrasive toothpaste, which serves as an effective “conductor” for ultrasound. The timer with an audible signal helps to control the time for the treatment of the tooth surface. The lithium-ion battery with charging indicator is designed for 14-17 days of battery life.

How to choose an electric toothbrush

According to dentist Victoria Nefedova , when choosing an electric toothbrush, you should pay attention to several important factors:

  1. Movement type. There are two main types of movement: rotational and sweeping. It is better to give preference to sweeping movements, they are more physiological.
  2. Pressure indicator . Many toothbrush models can beep when you press too hard on your teeth while brushing. This is a great feature that helps to avoid damage to the gums and tooth enamel.
  3. Operating modes . Different modes switch the intensity and the number of revolutions of bristle movements per minute.
  4. Presence of horn and timer . The audible signal allows you to control the brushing time and ensure that the minutes are evenly distributed among the 4 quadrants. And the timer allows you to brush your teeth for at least 2 minutes.
  5. The battery should hold a charge well so you don’t have to charge your brush too often.
  6. Optional tips and accessories available. Package contents may vary, so you should choose a brush with additional attachments or accessories if you need them.

Popular questions and answers

dentist Pavel Pisarev answers the most popular questions about choosing an electric toothbrush.

How to choose a toothbrush head?

– The bristles of electric brush heads differ in the stiffness of the bristles, their number, angle of inclination, the presence of rubber inserts, and so on. The choice depends on the sensitivity of your teeth, the condition of the enamel and gums. As the bristles wear in electric brushes, only the nozzle changes. You can track the replacement time, as a rule, by the color indicator on the bristles – they are discolored.

The duration of use of the nozzle depends on the frequency of use. On average, when using an electric brush twice a day (morning and evening), the service life is about two months.

What to look for when choosing an electric toothbrush?

– The brush must be battery operated, not battery operated. It is more reliable and tighter: water does not get in. Take a look at the handle. Preference should be given to models with a rubberized or non-slip surface. This will provide ease of cleaning. The built-in timer will help control the duration of cleaning, so it is better to choose models with their presence.

What other features should an electric toothbrush have?

– It would be nice if a pressure sensor was built into the electric brush. With excessive pressure on the teeth, the brush either gives a signal or turns off, saving tooth enamel and gums from excessive friction. Preference should be given to models that have at least two speed modes – normal and for sensitive teeth.

How to choose the right toothbrush? – Dental clinic

Hello precious patients!

Today I want to tell you how to choose the toothbrush of your dreams. In this article, you will find information not only about the types of toothbrushes (and there are, in fact, many more than you think), but also about the materials your toothbrush should be made of, the necessary bristle stiffness, as well as , about important little things that you will need to pay attention to when buying.

What are they made of?

Let’s start with what your toothbrush is made of. Many mistakenly believe that natural bristles are much better, but this is not true. The bristles of the toothbrush should be made of artificial fiber.

The fact is that bacteria are present inside each natural hair, so such brushes are unhygienic and contribute to the development of diseases in the oral cavity.

In addition, natural bristles are too soft and swell when wet. And their tips cannot be rounded, so their sharp edges injure the enamel and gums.

Artificial bristles are treated accordingly, the tips are rounded and are not capable of causing microtrauma to the enamel and mucous membrane. The main material used for the production of bristles is nylon.

Degree of hardness

One of the main things to consider when choosing a brush is the degree of hardness of the bristles. There are four levels of hardness of the toothbrush – hard, medium, soft and very soft. Typically, the labeling of the degree of rigidity is noted on the packaging: for example, “sensitive” means a very soft toothbrush, “soft” – soft, “medium” – medium, “hard” – hard, “extra-hard” – special toothbrushes. These parameters are very important. Let’s consider each in a little more detail.

Very soft and soft toothbrushes are indicated for children and adults with non-carious lesions of the enamel, when the enamel is not fully developed or is completely absent. Only a dentist can advise you to use these brushes.

The medium hard toothbrush is the best choice for maintaining oral health. I advise you to use it.

Rigid toothbrush is recommended for smokers, coffee drinkers and people with increased plaque formation, healthy gums and strong enamel.

Super-hard toothbrushes are a type of specialized brush used for cleaning complete dentures.

Types of toothbrushes.

Many people divide toothbrushes into “ordinary” and “electric”, so to speak: “you need to work with your hand” and “the technique will do everything for me”. In fact, there are many more types of toothbrushes. Here are some of them:

1. Ionic toothbrush

The secret of such a brush is in the shaft coated with titanium dioxide. This metal releases negatively charged electrons, which, when mixed with saliva, neutralize the acid produced by microbial activity. Thus, plaque is destroyed at the molecular level, and ionized saliva maintains a long-term therapeutic effect.

An additional advantage of ionic toothbrushes is that they can be used without toothpaste. The ion current and your saliva will do a great job of brushing your teeth on their own. If you are accustomed to using a toothbrush only with toothpaste, then you can get by with a minimum amount, because thanks to ions, its effect is enhanced. Another plus is that the ionic brush saturates the oral cavity with oxygen released during the electrolysis of water. Unfortunately, these brushes are very expensive, and not everyone can afford them.

2. Electric toothbrush (originally designed for people with limited hand movement)

Electric toothbrushes use a combination of pulsating and reciprocating motion.

The most popular of all models are Braun Oral-B, Philips and Sonic electric toothbrushes.

I think if your hands are with you and healthy, then these brushes are not for you.

3. Ultrasonic brush

The most modern type of toothbrush at the moment is an ultrasonic brush from manufacturers such as Ultrasonex, Megasonex, Donfeel, VS and others. A toothbrush with ultrasound has a healing effect on the gums, is a good prevention of the appearance of tartar and eliminates inflammation, which often leads to periodontitis. The brush has an ultrasound frequency of 1.6 MHz, which neutralizes microbes not only on the surface of the tooth, but also up to 5 mm under the gum.

In addition to ultrasound, toothbrushes have an audio frequency that allows them to make 18,000 strokes per minute. Thanks to the presence of two frequencies in the Sonicare toothbrushes, Ultrasonex and Megasonex, the toothbrush turns into a powerful tool in the fight against plaque. Ultrasound destroys the chains of plaque microbes, and the sound wave, forming foam, allows you to gently remove it.

Important: the brush is not recommended for people with cardiovascular diseases, and it is also not advisable to use it for cleaning dental implants after implantation and in the presence of crowns and bridges. ultrasound can destroy the cement on which they are placed, thereby leading to de-cementing of the delivered structures.

As good as these brushes are, they are just as expensive as ion brushes.

4. Toothbrushes for braces

A special kind of brushes are those of joyful braces wearers. Unlike conventional ones, they have a V-shaped cut on the bristles in order to more effectively clean the surface of the teeth and braces. Produce orthodontic toothbrushes Colgate, Oral-B, Lacalut and others. It will not be easy to find them in a pharmacy, so it is best to order in specialized online stores.

Let me tell you some small but important secrets for choosing the perfect toothbrush for you.

Important rules for choosing a toothbrush.
