Best Flight EVER!

We were traveling home after spending a few days at Walt Disneyworld in Orlando, FL. Flights with other major airlines were way out of budget since this was Christmas week. I took a chance and booked our flights home with Spirit. I will admit, I was anxious due to poor reviews I’d read online but figured I could tolerate a short flight (2 hours) even if it wasn’t that great. I was nervous our bags would be too big and we’d have to pay to check them but the agent said “Oh! Just those (backpacks)?! You’re fine!” and we had no issues boarding the plane and ever were allowed to use overhead storage (I understand this may not be the norm). When it came time for refreshments/snacks we found the variety very impressive; even though we had to pay for them we didn’t mind because they were high quality, substantial snacks- our son was even able to order Cup Noodles! Our son usually has ear pain on take off/landing due to a history of ear infections which caused some damage but not on this flight!!! When we were leaving the plane, the pilot was coming out of then cockpit, we complimented him on a great flight and he invited my son to come up front and look around. We were VERY satisfied with the airfare fees and overall high quality of services provided by Spirit. We will definitely fly with Spirit in the future!

Spirit Flights

I’m a frequent flyer and have been with Spirit for almost 10 yrs. Without failure they have always been good to me except for and I say again only when COVID -19 started. I don’t think any airline was prepared on how to deal with COVID-19.
Over all they are affordable and there Pilots are amazing the flight attendants varies but the seats could be a lot more comfortable even the big seats which they call first class. At $100-$130 that seat should give me a message be heated recline and should come with a free glass of wine. But for that kind of service I would have to switch to a different airline altogether. Well spirit I’m a ride or die type of gal so I guess we are stuck with one another. It’s good to have wi-if now so I guess you are working to make it better so no complaints a little at a time. Please stop going up on your bags the pricing for carry on is more the a checked bag why, there’s no reason for this seriously. We are all trying to survive Along with that comes traveling so be a little more considerate to your dedicated customers and your pricing. Things change all the time just be aware to how much your adjusting your prices. For many it hurts they’re pockets especially to a med to large size family. First Time Flying Spirit

I’m always traveling and American Airlines is always my go to for flights the prices are usually reasonable and they are reliable. I have heard about Spirit over the last couple of years but it was never good things so I never tried it out. My trip last weekend I was coming from Orlando into Charlotte I think the flight was 1148 but I could be mistaken I flew Spirit . Needless to say this was one of the best flying experiences that I’ve had in all my years. The plane was super clean the team you have in place at the Orlando airport as well as the attendants on the flight were absolutely AMAZING!!! I could go on and on about the professionalism and accommodating everyone was not just to me and my Granddaughter but to everyone. You get 5 Stars for whoever did the candidate selection! I just wanted to say to anyone that hasn’t tried out Spirit Airlines you need to jump on it because I wish I would of tried it sooner! They will now be my Go To for all my flights moving forward… Thank you for such an awesome first impression!

The Pokrovsky Chamber Stage, which has recently become one of the stages of the Bolshoi Theatre, premiered two operas by Giancarlo Menotti, The Telephone and The Medium, directed by Alexander Molochnikov. The opera diptych by an American composer of Italian origin appeared before the Russian public after a long oblivion – few people remember the first production in 1978 in Kazan now.

In the middle of the 20th century, Menotti was very popular and, against the backdrop of a new wave of avant-garde, he composed one after another musical and theatrical compositions that sounded on radio, television and even on Broadway. The somewhat old-fashioned for that time musical language of operas, ballets, musicals of the composer was “compensated” by the actual and modern plots of his own libretto. Thus, the opera “Medium”, which appeared to Menotti after attending a séance, raises the theme of retribution to pseudo-soothsayers and charlatans: the hostess of the medium, Madame Flora, constantly fools clients by calling the spirit of the dead with the help of technical tricks, but at some point she begins to believe her deceit. And in The Telephone, for the first time in the history of the opera, the passion for a new means of communication is playfully ironically played up – the girl Lucy does not pay attention to her fiancé Ben, constantly talking on the phone, which is why he decides to propose to her in the same way.

As never before, the stories that are relevant today were embodied by Alexander Molochnikov, an actor and until recently the youngest director of the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov. The stage space (also known as the “Temple of Hope,” as the signs at the doors say) is a kind of research laboratory or innovation center with translucent screens and a dome with a display on which announcements pop up from time to time, such as a topical proposal to summon the spirit of Michael Jackson and ask him questions. The combination of the creative tandem of set designers and architects Sergei Tchoban and Agnia Sterligova, together with the inventive lighting score by Aivar Salikhov, immersed the audience sitting opposite each other into the atmosphere of a science fiction film, or into the world of the future, which seemed to have already arrived. The protagonist Toby, outwardly reminiscent of Stephen Hawking, is a wheelchair-bound scientist who skillfully controls the center-medium system using a tablet. Being mute, Toby expresses his thoughts and feelings through a bot named Ben and through which he tries to get the attention of his beloved Lucy (hereinafter referred to as Monica), who is distracted by Skype with the audience from the audience in real time (the text of the libretto is submitted here as pop-up dialogs from the chat). However, Molochnikov ends the opera “Telephone” (although it would be more appropriate to rename it to “Tablet”) with a happy ending, namely, the wedding of Lucy, Toby and … a bot.

The opera “Medium”, which began without any intermission and pauses, in the best traditions of horror or art-house cinema, keeps you in suspense from the first bars to the last chord. In the center of attention is the swindler Madame Flora, a half-mad middle-aged woman in a strict suit (the artist is Maria Danilova), who first shot her clients (the Gobineau couple and Mrs. Nolan), and then her own daughter Monica, mistaking her for a ghost. The program laid down in the center-medium completely drives her crazy, and with the departure of Toby, he refuses to obey her at all. The imperceptible death of Flora against the backdrop of a systemic failure of super-machines that send messages to her on the screen, as if saying: the passion and power of modern technology can be destructive, and artificial intelligence can displace people and become a new form of life (how can one not recall an article by the same Hawking? ).

The question arises: what about Menotti’s music in the context of a convincing director’s idea? The composer’s score does not pretend to originality and freshness of the musical language, being the quintessence of operatic styles, forms, vocal features of past eras. And if “The Telephone” is a typical buff opera, even with the observance of the classicist unity of place, time and action, then “Medium” is a union of verism, expressionism and the style of Broadway musicals.

The orchestra (or rather an ensemble of soloists) conducted by the charismatic conductor Alexei Vereshchagin tried to emphasize the elements of “otherworldliness” (dissonances, chromaticisms, second intonations, etc.), periodically dissolving into electronic noise overtones and the sounds of a Skype video call. The vocal composition of this production is worthy of all praise. Perhaps the most difficult thing was for Azamat Tsaliti, who played the role of a bot, who, performing mechanistic movements, perfectly coped with his semi-variety, operetta part in love scenes with Lucy / Monica (Tamara Kasumova). The married couple Gobineau and Mrs. Nolan (Roman Shevchuk, Alexandra Nanoshkina and Ekaterina Bolshakova) resembled the deceived tragic heroes of the opera Don Juan, while the image of Madame Flora, brilliantly embodied by Olga Deineka-Boston, seemed to combine all the crazy heroines in history operas. However, watching the work of performer Askar Nigamedzyanov (Toby) with a sensory glove on his hand, it becomes clear: the future belongs to high technologies. And for young directors, of course.
