Apple products are made from different materials with different cleaning requirements. To begin with, here are some guidelines that apply to all products.

• Use only a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use hard cloths, towels, paper towels, or similar materials.
• Do not rub the device too hard to avoid damaging it.
• Disconnect all external power supplies, devices, and cables.
• Keep product away from liquids unless otherwise specified for the specific product.
• Keep moisture out of product openings.
• Do not use aerosol sprays, bleach, or abrasives.
• Do not spray cleaning agents directly on the product.

Can I use disinfectant on an Apple product?
Hard, non-porous surfaces of an Apple product, such as the display, keyboard, or other external surfaces, can be gently wiped with 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes, 75% ethanol wipes, or Clorox disinfectant wipes. Do not use products containing bleach or hydrogen peroxide. Keep moisture out of openings and do not submerge your Apple product in detergents. Do not wipe textile or leather surfaces with disinfectant solutions.

If liquid does get inside your Apple product, contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store immediately for assistance. Do not allow moisture to enter the openings of the computer. Do not spray liquid directly on the computer. Do not use aerosol sprays, solvents, abrasives or cleaners containing hydrogen peroxide. They may damage the surface.

Before cleaning the screen of your MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air, turn it off and unplug the power adapter. Moisten a soft, lint-free cloth and clean the computer screen with it. Only water should be used for humidification.

To clean stubborn smudges or fingerprints on the display or outside of your Mac, you can gently wipe the display or chassis of your Mac with a cloth dampened with 70 percent isopropyl alcohol (IPA).

2016 and later MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and Touch ID: Clean the Touch Bar and Touch ID (power button) the same way you clean the display. Shut down your Mac and unplug the power adapter. Moisten a soft, lint-free cloth and use it to clean the Touch Bar and Touch ID. Only water should be used for humidification.

MacBook (13-inch Late 2009) and MacBook (13-inch Mid 2010): These computers have a soft, non-slip material on the bottom half of the case. Use a 3M Gray Microfiber cloth or a soft, undyed, lint-free cloth to clean the bottom half of the case.

Mac Pro, Mac Studio, Mac mini, and iMac

Learn how to clean nano-texture glass on your Apple display if your iMac has nano-texture glass.

First, turn off your Mac and unplug the power cord and any connected devices. Use a soft, damp, lint-free cloth to clean the computer surface. Do not allow moisture to enter the openings of the computer. Do not spray liquid directly on the computer. Do not use aerosol sprays, solvents, abrasives or cleaners containing hydrogen peroxide. They may damage the surface.

To clean your iMac display, dampen the included cleaning cloth (or another clean, soft, lint-free cloth) and wipe the screen with it. Only water should be used for humidification. To remove stubborn dirt, you can dampen the cloth with a 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) solution.

Do not use cleaners containing acetone on your iMac screen. Use a detergent designed for screen cleaning. Do not spray directly onto the screen. Liquid may seep into the display and cause damage.

Apple Wireless or USB Keyboards, Mice, and Trackpads

Turn off your device first. Remove removable batteries (if available). (If the device is connected by cable, just disconnect it from the computer. )

Then clean the surface of the device with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water. Keep moisture out of openings and do not use aerosol sprays, solvents, abrasives, or cleaners containing hydrogen peroxide to clean.

The accuracy of the Magic Mouse or Magic Mouse 2 may be caused by hair or other debris on the sensor lens. Flip the mouse over and examine the sensor window under a bright light. If it is clogged, clean it gently with compressed air.

To clean the Apple cable, disconnect both ends from the device and the power adapter. Then wipe the entire length of the cable with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. If you cannot clean the cable, wipe it along the entire length with a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with soapy water. Use a dry cloth to remove excess moisture from the cable. Keep moisture away from the area near the connector. Dry the cable overnight before reconnecting it to the device.

This iPhone case is made of genuine leather. As you use it, its appearance will change. It may become coated or discolored due to the action of sebum and direct sunlight, becoming more natural over time.

Cleaning may cause the iPhone leather case to discolour. Before cleaning the case, remove it from iPhone. Gently clean the case with a clean cloth, mild soap and warm water. Alternatively, you can use a mild detergent and a dry, clean cloth. Detergents and leather conditioners can change the color of leather.

Protect your iPhone case from prolonged exposure to intense sunlight, heat, and humidity. Exposure to water, grease, cosmetics and dyed materials (such as denim) can stain tanned leather.

iPhone Case (Clear)

Before cleaning your iPad, turn it off (to do this, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button, then slide the slider on the screen) and disconnect all cables. Use a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Do not allow moisture to get into the openings of the device. Do not use window cleaners, household cleaners, compressed air, aerosol sprays, solvents, ammonia solutions, abrasives, or products containing hydrogen peroxide to clean iPad. iPad has an oleophobic screen coating – to remove fingerprints, simply wipe the iPad screen with a soft, lint-free cloth. The ability of this coating to repel fat decreases over time. Using abrasive materials to clean the screen speeds up the process and may also cause scratches.

iPod touch

iPod nano

Before cleaning your iPod nano, turn it off, disconnect all cables, and slide the lock switch to the lock position. Use a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Do not allow moisture to get into the openings of the device. Do not use window cleaners, household cleaners, compressed air, aerosol sprays, solvents, ammonia solutions, abrasives, or products containing hydrogen peroxide to clean iPod nano.

iPod nano 6th generation does not have a lock switch. To turn off this device before cleaning, you must press the Sleep/Wake button.

iPod shuffle

To clean your iPod shuffle, turn it off (slide the switch to the off position), disconnect all cables, and wipe it with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Do not allow moisture to get into the openings of the device. Do not use window cleaners, household cleaners, compressed air, aerosol sprays, solvents, ammonia solutions, abrasives, or products containing hydrogen peroxide to clean iPod shuffle.

iPod mini

Before cleaning iPod mini, turn it off, disconnect all cables, and slide the lock switch to the lock position. Use a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Do not allow moisture to get into the openings of the device. Do not use window cleaners, household cleaners, compressed air, aerosol sprays, solvents, ammonia solutions, abrasives, or products containing hydrogen peroxide to clean iPod mini.
