LG A2 48″ 4K OLED TV: was $1,299 now $599 @ Best Buy
Editor’s Choice deal! The A2 is LG’s entry-level OLED. In our LG A2 OLED review, we said it offers a wonderfully colorful picture and fairly strong audio. It offers Dolby Vision/HDR10/HLG support, LG’s webOS platform and built-in Google Assistant/Amazon Alexa. Console gamers take note: It’s a budget model, so you only get a 60Hz panel and three HDMI ports, with no HDMI 2. 1 support. Otherwise, it’s great for casual gaming and streaming. This is just $30 shy of its all-time Black Friday price low and one of the least-expensive OLED TVs of all time.

Amazon 43″ 4K Omni Fire TV: was $399 now $99 @ Amazon
Prime member deal! This is technically a Prime Day offer, but it’s simply too good to pass. Prime members can get the Amazon 43-inch 4K Omni Fire TV for just $99, which is the cheapest 4K TV we’ve ever seen. Note that you’ll need to log onto your Prime account and request an invite to buy it. (It’ll go on sale during Prime Day). The 43-inch Omni Fire TV is the latest TV (released March 22) in Amazon’s TV lineup. This new smaller size brings HDR 10/HLG support to a smaller 4K screen for those who can’t fit a 50-inch or larger TV into their living room. In our Amazon Fire TV Omni review, we said it’s solid for gaming thanks to its low lag time, but you should only buy it when it’s on sale as there are better/cheaper options for your money.

Toshiba 75″ 4K Fire TV: was $799 now $529 @ Best Buy
The Toshiba Fire TV is the perfect smart TV for anyone who wants a modern TV on a small budget. It supports Dolby Vision, HDR, and HDR10 content as well as DTS Virtual: X audio. Samsung 65″ S95B 4K OLED TV: was $2,999 now $1,599 @ Samsung
Lowest price! The Samsung S95B is Samsung’s first OLED and the first to combine OLED with quantum dots, resulting in a QD-OLED TV that promises the best of both technologies: superior color, brightness, and contrast in a single package. In our Samsung S95B OLED 4K Smart TV review, we said it largely delivers on its promise though it doesn’t provide those perfect black levels of a pure OLED TV (especially if you’re in a room with minor ambient light). Nevertheless, it’s an amazing TV for movies, gaming, and everything in between.

Unlike the 2021 model which used LED-LCD technology, this 2022 revamp sports a QLED display, which gives it a wider color gamut and uptick in brightness/contrast. In our Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED review, we said the TV is a solid pick for anyone who wants to stick within Amazon’s ecosystem. It features, HDR10/HLG/HDR10+ Adaptive/Dolby Vision IQ support, full array local dimming, and four HDMI ports (one HDMI 2.1 with eARC). You also get Alexa support baked in.

Hisense 55″ U8H Mini LED 4K TV: was $699 now $649 @ Best Buy
Our pick for the best value TV of the year just got cheaper courtesy of this epic Super Bowl TV deal at Best Buy. The 55-inch Hisense U8H offers Mini-LED lighting at an affordable price tag. TCL 55″ 4K QLED TV: was $549 now $399 @ Best Buy

The Samsung Neo QLED QN90B offers incredible visuals delivering some of the brightest and most detailed pictures we’ve seen from a TV that’s not an OLED. In our Samsung QN90B QLED TV review, we said it delivers potent picture and gaming capabilities with picture quality that stops short of perfection. It also has support for HDR10/HDR10+/HLG, and voice control support for Bixby, Amazon Alexa, or Google Assistant. Check other retailers: $1,299 @ Best Buy

Samsung 55″ QN700B Neo QLED 8K TV: was $1,599 now $999 @ Best Buy
This Samsung 8K TV comes loaded for less than $1,000. The QN700B Neo QLED 8K TV offers full array local dimming, HDR10 Plus support, and four HDMI 2.1 ports. It also has built-in Amazon Alexa/Google Assistant/Samsung SmartThings support. AI processing can upscale content to 4K and you can stream Xbox games to your TV without needing a console via Samsung’s free Gaming Hub service. This is the least-expensive 8K TV we’ve ever seen. The only problem is it’s too small to reap the benefits of 8K.

prices may decrease, but not for Russia

In the first half of the year, panels were sold by almost 6% less than in 2021. For Russians, the situation is complicated by parallel imports.

In the second quarter of 2022, global TV sales decreased by 7% compared to last year. Experts from the TrendForce research company assessed the situation and predicted worsening.

From April to June, manufacturers shipped 45.17 million TVs, which is quite small even compared to the beginning of the year – a decline of 5%. In total, 92.72 million panels were sold in the first half of the year, which is 5.8% less than in the same period last year.

Analysts consider inflation growth in Europe and the USA to be the main reason, because prices are rising and purchasing power is declining. A slightly less important factor was lockdowns due to new outbreaks of COVID-19in China, during which factories and shops are closed. The third reason for the decline in sales was the war between Russia and Ukraine. TrendForce believes that the problems of these regions have greatly influenced the performance of the global market.

In the second half of the year, from July to December, manufacturers traditionally ship more TVs, but the remaining months of 2022 may not be as profitable as usual. According to TrendForce’s most optimistic forecast, approximately 202 million devices will be sold by the end of the year, which is 3.8% less compared to 2021. Experts do not exclude that the market may sink to 200 million units sold.

Popular South Korean manufacturers Samsung and LG, which together hold 33% of the market, will be hit hard by the drawdown. TrendForce noticed that Samsung’s sales last quarter fell by almost 30%, and on an annualized basis, they could be reduced by 8% (38 million units). LG predicts a 11.6% drop in shipments to 25.7 million units.

Samsung has several factories in different countries, including the Kaluga region of Russia. In March 2022, the company suspended production at a Russian enterprise due to logistics problems and resumed only in June exclusively for export. Samsung products will be imported to Russia from neighboring countries through “parallel” imports, but even a temporary shutdown of the plant may affect the annual performance of the manufacturer and the entire market.

Chinese companies Hisense, TCL and Xiaomi round out the top five TV manufacturers in the world. The first one occupies the fourth place, but according to TrendForce estimates, the only one can be in the black and sell 4.3% more TV sets (22.7 million) by the end of the year. At this rate, the company can rise to second place.

TCL is trying to conquer the US and European markets, but has not yet made much progress. Due to the above problems, its sales in these regions turned out to be rather low, and according to experts’ forecasts, the finished figure will fall by 3.6%. Xiaomi should maintain its position and sell about the same number of panels as in 2021.

The Overclockers website recalls that in 2020, the demand for TVs has increased sharply against the backdrop of a pandemic and lockdowns, so manufacturers have barely had time to provide the market with the necessary amount of goods. Now people don’t need these devices as much, and companies are faced with an oversupply of products.
