There are curmudgeons out there who will skip this game because of the liberal Mario throwbacks, but they’re missing the forest for the trees.
Inventive level design, loads of content, and the shockingly profound boost mode make this one of the best 2D platformers out there.

New Super Mario Bros U is truly a “new” game in the series. A Must Buy for every Mario fan on the Planet.

Yes, the new 2D adventure is not a demonstration of Wii U’s potential, but it’s extremely competent as a plataformer, adding some elements that probably will accompany the series in the future and making, though perhaps unconsciously with its final boss, the eyes of players sparkle and give us a taste of what to expect of Mario in its next tridimensional adventure.

The latest entry in the endless Mario series is hardly “new” in concept, but doesn’t fail to entertain and to represent yet another excellent platformer.

Everything about New Super Mario Bros. U is pretty exciting, except the game itself. Is it possible that this is the best game in the “New” series to date–not to mention one of the best exclusive Wii U games on the market, by default–and at the same time kind of flatly uninteresting? Apparently so. The game is perfectly well made for what it is, and I had plenty of fun playing it in short bursts here and there, but at this point the series’ by-the-numbers design philosophy is starting to lend the name “New Super Mario Bros.” a degree of unintentional irony.

But want I like most is the ammount of content. I feel like there is so much to do and the challenge and rush mode is something that keeps bringing me back. I’d be suprised if you had a wii u and didn’t have this game. If you don’t have it, get it, you won’t be disappointed… Expand

Full resolution for pretty graphics, everything has a better look and it is quite long. It has around 100 stages, but after complete them now you have more extra modes and the chance of 5 players gaming, sharing with people in Miiverse… It is not something new, it is something renewed, and in the best way. It is not the best game that Wii u can have, but it is a good starter. If you mis it with New Super Luigi U… then give the game a 9. The part of Luigi has the wild that maybe you can miss from the mean part of the game…… Expand

Gamers can experience high-definition cell-shaded presentation on their TVs or entirely on the Wii U GamePad controller. The streamlined interface lets gamers easily manage your inventory—simply slide an item onto any button. Instantly view maps and zoom in on the GamePad controller’s touch screen. Enjoy a breezy cruise with the original sail, or switch to the brand-new Swift Sail that lets you gather the wind and speed across the waves. With the new Tingle Bottle feature, you can connect with others over Miiverse. Comments or screenshots others have posted on Miiverse may wash up on the shore or appear in other locations, tucked into bottles. Whenever you want, move around the world in first-person mode, using the GamePad gyroscope to look around you and aim your bow, hookshot, Picto Box, or telescope.
You can store more pictographs with your improved Picto Box—handy for creating figurines—and share them with other players on Miiverse. Your pictures, game tips, and messages may also appear in another player’s game. Take the adventure to new levels with Hero Mode, available from the moment you start the game. In this mode, you only regain health when you earn a new heart piece or container, use a red potion, or visit a fairy fountain. Also, your enemies do double the damage. [Nintendo]… Expand

While the ideas for those dungeons eventually made their way into other games, it’s disappointing Nintendo didn’t re-work the Triforce quest into a new dungeon or two to greatly improve the experience.
Or why they still left three charts in the game rather than making all of the items immediately obtainable once you reached the quest. As it stands, even with the refinements, this segment breaks the otherwise great pacing of the game and feels out of place.

Top 20 | Best games for Nintendo Wii
20 Monster Hunter 3
- Developer: Capcom
- Genre: Action-adventure
- Year: 2010
An ancient monster hunting simulator, featuring beautiful graphics and meticulous attention to all the small details of the gameplay. Despite some cartoonishness, the game is quite difficult, and not a single, even the weakest enemy, can be defeated here with a simple frontal attack. You need to choose tactics for each monster – and only then will it be possible to deal a fatal blow to it and add a new hunting trophy to your collection.
19 Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars
- Developer: Capcom
- Genre: Fighting
- Year: 2008
Fighting-crossover, a good half of the fighters of which is hardly familiar to the Russian player. However, the essence of the game is not in the characters, but in a well-developed combat system, consisting entirely of combo attacks, explosions, laser flashes and an incredible riot of special effects. The battles here are fast-paced, and the movements of any hero can be mastered in a couple of rounds. The game flourishes most brightly in the duel mode against another player, because computer opponents in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, unfortunately, is very, very weak.
18 Red Steel 2
- Developer: Ubisoft
- Genre: Shooter/slasher
- Year: 2010
Red Steel 2 is one of the few games on the Wii console that takes full advantage of the Wimote’s capabilities. Carrying out a bloody meat grinder with a katana is incredibly fun and easy, but do not expect an easy passage. Red Steel 2 is a very hardcore product, and some opponents and bosses, skillfully blocking attacks and removing a good half of health at a time, can cause quite real problems.
17 Trauma Center: New Blood
