ALEXANDER POBEDINSKY – “Traceur” / 2 episodes (DVD)
I. “TRACER – THE DESTROYER”
Creative group “L&D films” presents: short amateur thrash videocomic “Tracer – the destroyer”.
II. “TRACER – STUPID”
Producer center “ArtCreative Media” and Creative group “L&D films”
present: a short amateur thrash videocomic “Tracer is a half-wit”.
A short amateur thrash videocomic “Tracer the Fool” was filmed in Novosibirsk.
The authors of the film were the creative group “L&D films” which won in 2006
prize at the film award “Touch” in the nomination of the best special effects for the film “Tracer Destroyer”.
Together with the ArtCreative-Media Production Center, which became interested in the new project, the guys full of enthusiasm decided to make a new larger-scale film telling about the new adventure of a man who dreamed of doing parkour, but failed in this new youth direction.
Complete indifference to sports and excessive consumption of food give him many problems.
But his life changes drastically when he learns about the theft of film materials of national importance from the West Siberian Film Studio.
Full of ambition, he decides to take up the search for the robber and goes in search.
A real nuclear catastrophe will unfold before your eyes in which Novosibirsk
in a matter of moments will be wiped off the face of the earth from a 20 megaton charge.
This film is a parody of “Hollywood” blockbusters and belongs to multi-genre cinema,
there are elements: comics, action, comedy, action, drama and disaster.

Understanding DVDs – Win32 apps
[The feature associated with this DirectShow page is a deprecated feature. It has been replaced by MediaPlayer and IMFMediaEngine. MediaPlayer and IMFMediaEngine are optimized for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft strongly recommends using MediaPlayer and IMFMediaEngine 9 whenever possible0014 instead of DirectShow . Microsoft is proposing to rewrite existing code that uses deprecated APIs to make use of the new APIs whenever possible.]
Features that make DVDs attractive to consumers (simple branching, multiple languages, parental controls, karaoke support, and multiple angles), also make the developer’s job a little more difficult. A DVD player must not only play audio, video, and embedded streams, but also keep track of the navigation options currently allowed by the disc and handle many types of user commands correctly. The DVD Navigator protects you from this complexity by allowing you to create a fully functional DVD application. To use the DVD Navigator API effectively, you don’t need to refer to the DVD specification, but you do need to know the basic concepts of DVD software navigation.
Navigation control data
Audio and video data on a DVD-Video disc alternates regularly with various kinds of navigation control data. This data may be an instruction that instructs the player to do something, such as go to a specific location on a disk, or it may be an information marker telling the player, for example, that the following content has a higher parental level than the previous content, or that chapter skip operation is disabled. The player passes this information to the application, and it is responsible for its actions. These navigation markers are part of what gives DVDs a higher level of user interaction than Video CDs. The DVD player application must handle events originating from the disc as well as events originating from the user.
Audio, video, and embedded data
A DVD-Video disc contains three main types of streams: video, audio, and subrecording.
- A video stream can contain up to nine “corners”, which can be considered as substreams. DVD writers can include multiple angles where they want to offer the viewer a choice of camera angles to view the same scene. Only one corner can be active at a time. The video stream also contains line 21 closed header data, if any.
- There can be up to eight separate audio streams, or tracks, providing up to eight multi-channel soundtracks and allowing karaoke DVDs to use multi-channel audio.
- DVD-ROM can contain up to 32 sub-streams . They consist of compressed 16-color bitmaps with an alpha channel that are overlaid on the video. Typically, substreams contain subtitles and menu buttons, although they can contain other graphics as well. The substream can have the specified language. Some attachments are always displayed, and some are only displayed if the user has enabled it.
Note that the sub-stream captions are not the same as the captions in line 21. Captions intended for hearing impaired viewers are embedded in the video signal. They consist entirely of character strings. On the other hand, nested chart subtitles are graphical bitmaps. On the receiving device, closed captions are displayed by the TV and the subpicture stream is rendered by the DVD player. A DVD disc can contain both types of signature.
Titles and chapters
The DVD video content is divided into titles and menu . Titles are also divided into units, which the DVD specification calls parts of titles (PTT). They are more commonly referred to as scenes or chapters . (The DirectShow documentation uses the term chapter.) The viewer can jump to specific titles or chapters in titles.
The DVD author decides how to divide the content into titles and chapters. When a DVD contains a feature film, the entire film is often placed in one title, divided into chapters for individual scenes. Additional features on the DVD, such as trailers or deleted scenes, are placed in separate titles. However, these divisions are arbitrary and many DVDs are organized differently.
A disc can have up to 99 titles, and disc authors can divide a title into as many as 999 logical chapters. In most feature films on DVD, the contents of the film are formatted as a series of chapters that automatically play one after the other. On such discs, the end-of-chapter marker contains a branch instruction that tells the player to continue playing the next chapter in the sequence. These titles are referred to as single consecutive PGC titles. (PGC stands for Program Chain, another name for a group of chapters that belong together. This term is not used in the DVD Navigator’s documentation.) On discs with other types of content, such as karaoke discs, an end-of-chapter marker may instruct the player to display menu or just tell the player to stop.
DVD application developers use title and chapter numbers to jump to specific points on a disc. For more precise access, you can use the title number and time code. Time codes can only be used with a single sequential PGC header, as the other types do not contain time code maps.
The DVD specification defines six menu types:
- Title. The title menu is the first menu displayed. It usually has buttons for selecting headings. The header menu is also called video manager menu . There is only one title menu on a DVD disc.
- Root. The root menu is the top level menu for the title. Each heading can have a root menu. The next four menus are submenus from the root menu. The root menu is also called video title set menu . The root menu usually has buttons that jump to any of the headings in the heading set. In addition, it may have submenus that allow the user to select options for the audio stream, camera angle, subpicture stream, or chapter. However, these submenus are not used on most DVDs.
- Insight. A subpicture stream is selected in the subpicture menu.
- Audio. Audio stream is selected in the audio menu. Typically, this menu allows the viewer to select a language track.
- Angle. In the angle menu, the camera angle is selected.
- Chapter. The chapter menu, also called the PTT menu, selects chapters in a title.
Most menus have buttons that can be selected and activated . Clicking the button changes the appearance of the button. Activating the button starts a DVD command, such as displaying another menu or starting playback.
Parental Control Levels
All or part of a DVD can be encoded with a Parental Control Level (PML) numbered from one to eight. Eight is the most restrictive level (adults only) and one is the least restrictive (all ages). The idea is to prevent children from viewing adult content without parental consent, allowing adults to watch safe content for children. In the US and Canada, the levels follow the MPAA rating system (G, PG, PG-13, NC-17), but this is not the case in other countries or regions.
Because chapters can logically exist in a parent box, two versions of the same chapter can exist in a header, each assigned a separate PML, and in a different parent box. For example, a child who logs in and plays a disc will see one version of Chapter 3, while an adult who logs in will see a different version, assuming the app supports PMLs.
The title or chapter may also contain temporary pmls whose content is ranked higher than the PML for the title or chapter as a whole. This means that a position can have multiple parent levels. Temporary PMLs are usually created as corner blocks, so a scene in a movie can have two versions, one for young viewers and one for adults.
The player application is responsible for parenting.
The term domain refers to the internal state of the DVD player; it’s not something created on disk. Domains are important as some DVD commands are only valid in certain domains. DirectShow allows you to query the current domain and receive notifications when the domain changes. The following domains are defined:
- The first game. The DVD player has just started playing a DVD in this domain. After it transitions to the First Play domain, the player switches to another domain, either the menu domain or the title domain, depending on the disc.
- Video manager menu. The player displays the video manager menu, also called the title menu.
- VTS menu. The player displays the menu associated with the video title set, either the root menu or a sub-menu (sound, sub-picture, angle, or chapter).
- Title. The player plays the video in the title.
- Stop. The player does not display anything. (Strictly speaking, the DVD spec doesn’t call this state a domain, but it can be thought of as one.)0058
The domain can be thought of as a state variable monitored by the DVD player to keep track of the type of content the player is currently reading from the disc.
