One of the best things you can do for a healthy credit score is pay your credit card and other loan payments on time. Payment history makes up 35% of your overall score, so even a few late payments can significantly harm it.
If you’re a Citi cardmember, use one of the following payment methods to ensure you make your Citi credit card payment on time.
Options for Making a Citi Credit Card Payment
Citi gives cardmembers at least 23 days after the close of each billing cycle to make a payment before it is considered late. You can find your payment due date on your monthly statement.
Make a Citi Credit Card Payment on the Citi Website or App
You can log into your online account on the Citi website or through the Citi mobile app to make a one-time payment or set up AutoPay. If you have not yet registered for an online account, you will need your credit card information to register and create a login.
You’ll have to add a payment source to your online Citi account to make online payments. This payment source can be a checking, savings or money market account from any U.S. bank or credit union that accepts electronic debits. Your financial institution’s unique ABA routing number and your bank account number are required to add the payment source to your Citi account.
Some banks use a different routing number for electronic payments, so be sure to confirm you have the correct routing number to avoid payment delays.
Make a Citi Credit Card Payment by Phone
You can easily pay your Citi credit card bill over the phone by calling 1-800-950-5114. Be prepared for them to ask personal verification questions, and be sure to have your credit card and payment information handy.
Make a Citi Credit Card Payment by Mail
To mail a credit card payment, you can send it to the mailing address on your most recent credit card statement. The address is on the payment coupon on the first page of your statement. If you don’t receive a statement in the mail, you can access your most recent statement by logging in to your Citi online account.
Takeaway
Pay your balance in full whenever possible because it will save you money in interest in the long run. If you can’t always pay your balance in full, be sure to submit your minimum payment on time. On-time payments will benefit your credit score and help keep your credit utilization low.
Citi makes it easy to make a credit card payment. If you have a bank account with an online bill payment feature, you can schedule your Citi credit card payment right from your regular bank account. You can also make your payment through your Citi online account, by phone or by mail.
