Top 1080p 60Hz Monitors
#1 HP Vh340a 23.8” Computer Monitor
25,843 Reviews
Our #1 Pick is the HP Vh340a 23. 8” Computer Monitor
Award: TOP PICK
WHY WE LIKE IT: This 16:9 60Hz monitor features an impressive resolution with 16.7 million colors on its nearly 24” panel. Along with a virtually bezel-less look and great viewing angles, it won’t disappoint when it comes to either performance or design.
Pros
- Bezel-less design
- The IPS panel makes for great viewing angles
- Features Rotation and Tilt adjustments
Cons
- Built-in speakers are sub-par
The Vh340a 1080p 60Hz monitor from HP will make your screen time a lot more enjoyable with its vivid colors, a bezel-less look, and a 16:9 aspect ratio. Its IPS panel makes for great viewing angles, which make it ideal for office work with co-workers and watching movies. And with LED backlighting, you won’t have to worry about color uniformity or glare, thanks to its anti-glare, matte finish. However, the monitor’s built-in speakers are only sub-par, making it necessary to use external audio devices.
Moreover, it supports 100mm VESA mounting and other adjustable features such as a 90° rotation, making it usable in horizontal and vertical orientations. This, along with the ergonomic tilt adjustment of -5° to 30°, makes it an excellent fit for programmers who benefit significantly from vertical screens. The monitor also supports both VGA and HDMI(but only comes with an HDMI cable), making it usable with both old and new devices.

Our #2 Pick is the Sceptre E205W-16003R 20 Inch Computer Monitor
Award: HONORABLE MENTION
WHY WE LIKE IT: An impressive display that features both Adaptive-Sync and a refresh rate that refreshes the screen 75 times per second, this monitor makes for a great budget gaming pick. And with a fast response time of 5ms, it also makes images appear smoother and more realistic.
Pros
- Features Adaptive-Sync
- Great for budget gaming
- Easy to set up
Cons
- Sub-par picture quality
Gamers on a budget will love the Sceptre E205W-16003R monitor that features Adaptive-Sync and a higher 75Hz refresh rate over its native 60Hz. This allows it to display images with less motion blur paired with higher frames per second, making it great for moderate fps games. However, its picture quality isn’t that great and some users mentioned experiencing dead pixels on some units.
Additionally, the 1080p 60Hz monitor also has an anti-flicker panel that reduces eye strain for long periods of use. The monitor also supports both HDMI and VGA and a 75mm x 75mm VESA mount capability, which makes it adaptable and easy to install thanks to all the cables being included. It also has built-in speakers that are somewhat decent, but it is recommended to use external audio devices for a better experience.

Our #3 Pick is the BenQ GW2480 24” Computer Monitor
Award: BEST FOR EYE COMFORT
WHY WE LIKE IT: With a large screen that features a Full HD resolution of 1920x1080p at 250 nits of luminance, this monitor will make working in front of a screen a lot more pleasant. It also reduces eye strain significantly with its varying luminance feature that optimizes the display for your comfort.

Cons
- Disappointing speakers
14
A great fit for users who spend most of their workday in front of screens, the BenQ GW2480 includes features such as automatically adjusting brightness. This patented technology adjusts the brightness according to the surroundings, which, paired with the low blue light and flicker-free technology of the display, reduces eye strain significantly and makes working on your computer a lot more comfortable. However, you should note that the built-in speakers have a disappointing sound quality, and you would better benefit from external speakers or headsets.
Moreover, with 100mm VESA mount capability and a wide viewing angle of 178°, the monitor is also ideal for saving desk space and working with others. You can also play casual games with a low response time of 8ms and 60Hz refresh rate but nothing too competitive. And with its 1080 resolution and IPS panel, you will also be benefiting from fantastic picture quality that will improve your viewing experience.

Our #4 Pick is the Dell P2419H 24” Computer Monitor
Award: BEST FOR PRODUCTIVITY
WHY WE LIKE IT: With impressive ergonomic adjustments like 90° rotation for a vertical screen and tilt and swivel features, this display makes for the perfect productivity monitor. And with a small yet stable base, it allows for more desk space.
Pros
- Ergonomic adjustments
- Thin and lightweight profile
- Decent picture quality
Cons
- Not great for gaming
Making for one of the best productivity monitors, the Dell P2419H comes with adjustable ergonomic features like a swivel, tilt, and rotation feature, which allows it to be used as a vertical screen. This, along with the small desk space it takes up, makes it ideal for programming students and others with limited desk space. However, you should note that with an 8ms response time and a 60Hz refresh rate the monitor isn’t ideal for gaming.
Moreover, multiple USB and Display Ports allow for more excellent connectivity, allowing for a more seamless work experience. The 1920 x 1080p resolution monitor also comes with a 1000:1 contrast ratio making for decent picture quality. Our #5 Pick is the Samsung CF396 23.5” Computer Monitor
Award: BEST FOR IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE
WHY WE LIKE IT: With a 1800R curved panel, this monitor will allow you to have a completely immersive experience with impressive image quality. And paired with its game-oriented features, you can also play casual games without any issues.
Pros
- Brilliant picture quality
- Immersive curved display
- AMD Freesync support
Cons
- The power button needs to be used to turn the display back on from sleep
Allowing you to have an impressively immersive experience with its 23.5 Inch curved display, the Samsung CF396 monitor will make working and viewing content a lot more enjoyable. Moreover, paired with its AMD Free Sync support and a fast 4ms response time, it will impress you with its gaming capabilities. However, do note that you will still be limited to a 60hz refresh rate at 1920 x 1080 resolution.
The monitor also comes with a 3000:1 contrast ratio, making images appear more vivid and giving them more depth. And with its Eye Saver Mode that reduces the amount of blue light emitted from the display, you won’t have to worry about eye strain. However, the monitor has an issue with the display going to sleep, where you won’t be able to turn it back on by moving the mouse or keyboard click and instead have to hold down the power button to turn the display around on.
#6 Dell SE2719H 27” Computer Monitor
Sale
5,475 Reviews
Our #6 Pick is the Dell SE2719H 27” Computer Monitor
Award: BEST AESTHETIC LOOK
WHY WE LIKE IT: This large display comes with fantastic picture quality featuring both vividness and clarity on it’s 16:9 aspect ratio. And also, with a bezel-less and clean dark look, it makes for a great aesthetic addition to your workspace.
Pros
- Good image quality
- Both HDMI and VGA compatible
- Great viewing angles
Cons
- It does not support VESA mount
With a 1920 x 1080p resolution, the Dell SE2719H will amaze you with the extraordinary picture quality at a contrast ratio of 1000:1 that makes it an excellent fit for both work and watching content. It features an IPS LED display which gives you great viewing angles, and with its tilt feature, you can even adjust it accordingly. However, it’s unsuitable for gaming as the 60Hz refresh rate and 8ms response time make it unideal for fast-paced competitive games.
Although you can use it for casual light games, you might still experience motion blur and ghosting without any form of adaptive sync. Moreover, it supports both HDMI and VGA, which makes it adaptable to use with various types of devices. But with its stylish thin, and clean design paired with the easy setup, the monitor is great for work both at offices and from home.
Beginner’s Guide to 1080p 60Hz Monitors
What Are 1080p 60Hz Monitors?
Since you can’t visually interpret the ones and zeroes that your computer transmits, you need something to translate them for you. A 1080p 60Hz monitor is a device that displays that visual information coming from your computer in a way that your eyes and brain can interpret.
When it comes to form factor and design, 1080p 60Hz monitors are flatscreens of varying screen sizes with a built-in stand. They feature a glass panel that displays the information, as well as a variety of physical buttons that you can use to adjust monitor settings.
Computer screens connect to your computer using a single display cable. There is a wide range of different display cables today, but the most common include HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort, and USB-C.
1080p 60Hz Monitors vs. Traditional Monitors
1080p 60Hz monitors are the most common type of computer display available on the market today. As such, when you think of a flatscreen computer monitor, you’re likely picturing something in this category.
The 1080p label describes the monitor’s screen resolution measured in both vertical and horizontal pixels. At 1920×1080 pixels, these displays are considered full HD.
The 60Hz label describes the monitor’s refresh rate. The refresh rate refers to the speed at which your monitor can update with a new image every second. A 60Hz refresh rate is considered standard for the industry. For a much higher refresh rate, consider purchasing any of the best 165Hz monitors.
How 1080p 60Hz Monitors Work
A monitor’s core functionality remains the same no matter what kind you purchase. Once you connect your monitor to both a power source and to your computer, it will be ready to receive data from your computer.
After it is powered on and starts receiving a signal from your computer, the monitor will send an electric current through the panel technology. Most monitors in this category are either LCD or LED displays, which feature a unique liquid crystal material housed between two panels of glass.
The electric current and backlighting activate the liquid crystals, which then rearrange themselves to reproduce the image you see on your screen. The liquid crystals in different panel types will react differently to give you wide viewing angles, a quick response time speed, and more accurate colors.
Do You Really Need a 1080p 60Hz Monitor?
1080p 60Hz monitors aren’t considered the industry standard for no reason. These products offer a high level of reliability, consistency, and long lifespans. As such, a full HD display is an excellent choice for nearly any application.
Whether you’re purchasing a new monitor for your home office, workplace, or gaming setup, the top 1080p 60Hz monitor will serve you well. Plus, most 1080p options are budget monitors, which are perfect for anyone looking to save some money. But if you’re looking for flicker-free technology to reduce eye strain, the best 1080p 144Hz monitor will do you good.
Is a 1080p 60Hz Monitor Worth Buying?
- You Need a Reliable, Well-Rounded Monitor: The best thing about 1080p 60Hz screens is the fact that they offer a well-rounded solution that fits most peoples’ needs.
If you’re looking for a general use monitor that you can also use for the occasional creative and gaming application, then these full HD monitors are the perfect choice for you.
- You Need a Quick, Easy Solution: There isn’t a ton of research you need to do to find a high-quality 1080p 60Hz monitor. If you’re looking to make a quick purchase for an easy solution that doesn’t require a ton of shopping, then monitors in this category are a good fit for you.
- You Want to Save Money: 1080p 60Hz monitors are the most affordable monitors available on the market today. Whether you’re looking for a cheap gaming monitor or you’re looking to save money, these are budget-friendly monitors.
Why a 1080p 60Hz Monitor May Not Be For You
- You’re a Competitive Gamer: If you need a monitor for competitive gaming, you may want to consider something other than a 1080p 60Hz monitor. Competitive gaming requires a higher maximum refresh rate than 60Hz.
As a whole, these monitors also tend to feature slower response times, but you can find options with the fastest 1ms response time if you look hard enough.
- You’re a Creative Professional: Creative professionals like video editors, graphic designers, and artists may want to opt for a monitor with a higher screen resolution. While 1080p is good for most applications, serious creatives will need a monitor that can produce a sharper image with more vibrant colors.
How Long Will a 1080p 60Hz Monitor Last?
When it comes to 1080p 60Hz monitors, you generally have two choices available to you for display technology: LCD or LED.
LCD stands for liquid crystal display and it uses cold cathode fluorescent light panels (CCFLs) for backlighting. LED stands for light-emitting diode, which refers to the small individual lights it uses for backlighting.
When we talk about the lifespan of a computer monitor, we mostly refer to how long it will be before the backlighting fails. According to TechiExpert, an LCD panel should last you between 30,000 hours and 60,000 hours, while an LED panel should last you upwards of 120,000 usage hours.
Of course, there are various other factors that can contribute–negatively or positively–to a monitor’s lifespan. For example, keeping your monitor in a dirty environment can increase the likelihood of dust or other debris entering your monitor and causing problems.
We recommend keeping your monitor clean and dust-free to prolong its lifespan. We also recommend placing it in a sturdy location where it won’t get accidentally knocked over. Drops and bumps can also decrease your monitor’s lifespan.
How to Choose the Best 1080p 60Hz Monitor
Before you start shopping for a 1080p 60Hz monitor, it’s important you decide which features are most important for your needs.
1080p 60Hz Monitor Key Factors to Consider
Read through the following list of questions to help you determine what key factors you should consider shopping for the top 1080p 60Hz monitor.
1. How are you planning on using your full HD display?
Since the 1080p 60Hz option is considered the standard monitor in the industry, you have a ton of different options for specific features and functionality. Determining the exact use of your monitor before you purchase one can help you decide which features are most important.
Let’s take a look at some of the most common uses for full HD displays.
General Use
If you plan on only using your computer and monitor for simple applications like surfing the web, shopping online, or watching your favorite TV shows on Netflix, then nearly any 1080p 60Hz monitor will be good for you. For general use, look for a monitor that fits your budget, has good reviews, and looks good to you in terms of vibrant colors or extra features.
If you’re looking for a general use computer monitor, you may want to consider an option with built-in speakers. This way you won’t need to purchase expensive external speakers.
Home Office and Professional Use
1080p 60Hz computer screens make for excellent home office and professional tools. The full HD resolution and standard refresh rate will make most of your work software look and function really well.
There are a few features to which you should pay more attention when considering one of these monitors for professional use. For starters, you’ll want an option with multiple input ports like HDMI, DisplayPort, and VGA. You may also want to consider a monitor with a USB-C port now that more peripherals and storage drives are starting to use USB-C ports.
Gaming
If you’re looking for a monitor for gaming, then a 1080p 60Hz can do the trick. The full HD picture quality looks amazing with most of your favorite games. The 60Hz refresh rate isn’t the best for fast-paced games, but it is still good for most gamers.
Please note, these budget gaming monitors are usually better for casual gaming instead of competitive gaming. If you need something for competitive-level play, we recommend a 144Hz monitor or an option with a 240Hz refresh rate.
You may also want to consider a monitor with a dedicated game mode if you’re planning on using it for playing video games. Game mode enables pre-configured gaming settings so you always get the best gaming experience when you play.
2. What panel types are available and which should you choose?
There are three different panel types to consider when purchasing a new monitor:
- TN: TN panels are on the low end of the price range. They feature a quick response time speed. You’ll easily be able to find a 1ms response time on these monitors.Unfortunately, they offer narrow viewing angles and poor color reproduction, especially compared to other panel types. Still, if you’re looking for a cheap gaming monitor, a TN panel is a great choice.
- VA: VA panels land right in the middle of the price range. They’re excellent all-around monitors with wider viewing angles and more vibrant colors than TN monitors. However, they can struggle a bit when it comes to pixel response times.
- IPS: IPS panels sit in the high-end of the price range.
However, an IPS panel is the best when it comes to vibrant colors and accurate color reproduction. They offer wide viewing angles, as well. No other panels can beat the picture quality of an IPS monitor.
3. What screen size should you purchase for your 1080p 60Hz monitor?
The size of your computer monitor is ultimately a subjective decision. Some people enjoy a larger screen size while others don’t have enough desk space to fit anything bigger than a 24-inch display.
In general, most people find that a 24-inch to 27-inch size range hits the sweet spot for most applications. When it comes to monitors for gaming, you’ll want to lean more toward the 27-inch screen size.
Larger monitors with more screen real estate tend to offer wide viewing angles and better color reproduction. However, even in spite of narrow viewing angles, a small monitor is perfect for a general-use monitor.
4. What image quality and performance features should you consider?
Most people who use a computer monitor can appreciate a crisp image quality. However, the extent of image quality and performance features you purchase will depend on your specific needs.
- Gaming Monitors: For gaming monitors, you’ll want to purchase a 1080p 60Hz monitor with a 1ms response time for fast-paced games and adaptive sync technology like Nvidia G-Sync to eliminate screen tearing. You’ll also want a monitor with more vivid colors and deeper blacks so you achieve a more immersive gaming experience. All of these features make for a more immersive and responsive gaming experience.
- Professional Monitors: For professional monitors, you’ll want to target an affordable price with a standard 16:9 aspect ratio so all of your business applications will display properly onscreen. Performance features like a quick response time speed and a variable refresh rate don’t matter as much since you likely won’t be playing fast-paced games.
- Entertainment Monitors: Like gaming monitors, a computer screen for entertainment should focus on a quick response time speed and good color accuracy.
With vibrant colors thanks to a wide color gamut, your movies will look as good as they do on the big screen.
5. What extra features should you consider for your full HD monitor?
Depending on the model you purchase, some 1080p 60Hz monitors will offer additional features. Consider some of these options:
- Built-in speakers: Monitors with integrated speakers may not offer the best audio quality, but they’re incredibly helpful if you need audio and don’t want to spend a lot on external speakers. You may also want to consider a monitor with an audio jack so you can plug your headphones into it.
- USB ports: Monitors with USB ports allow you to plug your mouse, keyboard, and storage drives directly into your display. This can help free up ports on your computer or laptop.
- Ergonomic design: If you’re planning on using your monitor for extended periods, you should consider a monitor with an ergonomic design.
This means your display will offer adjustable settings so you can position it in a way that prevents strain on your neck muscles and eyes.
- Ultrawide monitors: If you’re a big multi-tasker, you may want to purchase a monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio. Ultrawide monitors allow you to use your entire screen to work in multiple windows simultaneously. Gamers can also appreciate an ultrawide gaming monitor, which can increase your field of view while playing.

Difference between 144Hz and 60Hz gaming monitors
Modern monitors have a lot of characteristics and parameters due to which we lean towards a particular model. Screen size, matrix type, brightness, contrast, response and much more. But there is a parameter that instantly labels any monitor as “gaming” – screen refresh rate .
Screen refresh rate is a characteristic that indicates the maximum number of frames per second that the monitor can display (measured in Hertz (Hz)). Due to the high frequency of the screen, good smoothness and dynamism of the image are achieved.
60 (75), 144 and 240 Hz
The most common 60Hz monitors are the regular monitors we are used to seeing, the standard of “today’s” day. Movies, the Internet, work and study, games – it will fit for various tasks at an affordable price. There is an increased frequency of 75 Hz – working and playing on such a monitor is already a little more pleasant. Many will convince you that there is no difference between 60 Hz and 75 Hz. Know – it is, you just have to compare and try.
Tomorrow’s standard is 144 Hz monitors . As a rule, such monitors can be considered gaming monitors in absentia, and this is no accident, because the frequency is almost 2.5 times higher. Such monitors are the benchmark in the eSports industry, and it is not in vain that they are aggressively promoted and respected among young people, despite the high cost of 2-3 times. Even when surfing the web, you will feel the smoothness of moving windows, cursor, content on the Internet, not to mention games. These sensations are difficult to describe – it is better to try it yourself once in order to understand.
240Hz monitors are the standard for the day after tomorrow, which is not far away. Such monitors are flagships, and not every buyer can afford such pleasure. The price difference is almost double that of 144Hz monitors, but the smoothness of the picture is no longer as different as with 60Hz and 144Hz monitors, although some changes are still noticeable. Due to the high price (2 times more than 144Hz monitors), the demand for such monitors is not high, but we believe that one day these monitors will be in demand on the market.
FREESYNC (FREESYNC 2 HDR) After all, your computer cannot produce the same number of frames per second throughout the game, which causes visual frame breaks on the monitor.
AMD’s FreeSync technology controls the refresh rate of the display through the DisplayPort interface, while NVidia’s G-Sync uses its own proprietary chip installed in the monitor. Due to this, G-Sync will cost more, but any NVidia GTX-level video card will easily support this technology, while not every AMD Radeon video card supports FreeSync. The advantage of AMD FreeSync is that it allows you to work in the range 9-240Hz, while NVidia G-Sync is only 30-144Hz. In addition, NVidia suggests disabling G-Sync altogether when it drops below 30 frames per second.
COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS
There is one significant remark – since the monitor is capable of operating at a frequency of 144 Hz, then the computer must also produce at least 144 FPS (Frame Per Second ( eng ) – frame per second). It will only be better if it is higher, so that in games when the FPS drops, the number of frames does not fall below 144, because. this is fraught with a decrease in the smoothness of the picture. In simple terms, if a game on a computer only produces 60 frames, there is almost no point in a 144 Hz or 240 Hz gaming monitor. You need to take care of the power of your PC in advance – buy more RAM, and if necessary, upgrade the processor and video card, because. the amount of FPS directly depends on them.
However, FPS in games can be increased not only due to powerful computer components, but also by lowering the graphic settings in the game, as professional gamers and e-sportsmen do, in order to achieve the maximum FPS value.
THE BEST 144Hz GAMING MONITORS FOR THE PRICE
Of the available options, it is worth noting the LG 24GM79G-B monitor – at a price of up to $ 300 it has a good build quality, and in general, LG has proven itself to be a good side.
